Just when I think I got them all hunted down, I find out there's a K-Mart exclusive. What is it exactly? There's not a K-Mart anywhere near me so I can't just go down there and pick it up. Thanks.

Dane Marvin 06-14-07 10:54 PM

Need someone to help me track down a Circuit City 3-disc version. I have no Circuit City store near me! Will be happy to pay for it via Paypal. I'm a Gold Trader in the exchange forum. Thanks!

I think this is satisfactory enough to answer your inquiry

The best thing about xage is that he serial collects the same things I serial collects. He's so handy like that. Thanks!

Trevor 06-16-07 07:59 AM

I put the K-mart CD in my drive yesterday. Was in a bit of a hurry, so only scanned it for a minute. Seemed super fluffy. A few pages of facts, a lame design your own chopper "game", some wallpaper from the internet. Definitely only for completist.

Dane Marvin 06-16-07 09:53 AM

So xage - do you eventually open any of them or not?

Nothing against you but I always get the same question about it.

Some reference topic on questions if I open my DVDs

If you open all the GR exclusives, let me know which one has the best bonus disc when you watch them all! :)

TNAJason 06-16-07 08:10 PM

I bought the Wal-Mart and Circuit City versions, and am debating whether or not to keep the Theatrical part of the Wal-Mart package. I have watched the Circuit City disc and thought while it was short,I thought it was pretty good. I actually liked Ghost Rider, and never got to see the Theatrical cut in theatres, but liked the Extended.

What was the material on the CC bonus disc? And do you remember what the run time was around?

Did anyone notice that at Best Buy the free book they gave away was ringing in at $39.99? I got a good laugh from that one, so if someone just wanted the book and not the dvd it would cost $39.99! The book does have a cover price of $19.99 on Amazon so I think it was a cool freebie! As for the movie, that was the absolute worst Marvel movie I have ever seen, even worse than Man-Thing and the original Punisher....

If you look at the back of the book below the UPC, it says "Not For Resale".

shacmasta 06-18-07 06:37 PM

I couldn't find the best buy book at one of my local bbuy's, so figured why not just order the thing and hope for the best (the best meaning my copy isn't trashed like every other item that gets sent my way from walmart & best buy)....Long story short, I got it and it's fine and it's a really good looking book. The clerk at best buy made it sound like it was a flimsy pamphlet when I asked the guy if he had anymore the other day. So I was surprised.

Now waiting for the walmart set to arrive. That I have a feeling will be trashed, though I hope they box it since I ordered a few things with it.

If I'm not mistaken. The original one is twice the size, not content wise though. Just as far as height goes. I think I read that somewhere.

Yep, someone here mentioned that the book looks better shrunken, the art wasn't sharp in the larger size.
It is a cool little book.

Nice one there with the Shopbot...

Well, here are all the R1 Ghost Rider Store Exclusives:

DJariya 06-21-07 02:16 AM

A friend at work rented this and we watched it during our downtime in the office. It was a semi-entertaining flick, but definitely not worth a purchase. Lots of goofy dialogue and Nic Cage is soooo miscasted as Johnny Blaze.

I might get this down the road if the price drops below 10 bucks.

onebyone 06-21-07 12:32 PM

I am now the Costco version away from having all the US Ghost Rider dvds. Thanks for the updated picture. Of course, this cover of the R2 2-Disc HMV exclusive is really awesome. I think I am going to have to expand my Ghost Rider collection to include that one too.

I re-edited it an included the Futureshop Exclusive

onebyone 06-21-07 11:17 PM

I just found out about the Futureshop exclusive and came to tell you about it and I see you beat me to it. There's no getting a jump on you it seems. :)

I don't think even a giftset can make me pay that much ($59.95 SRP) for this movie. I'm waiting for the inevitable price drop on the 2-disc to make it worth my while (and only because I'm a comic book movie completist).

Seriously??? Because there have been hundreds upon hundreds of comic book movies released.

There are 887 alone in this search on IMDB.com and this probably doesn't include comic book movies like Road to Perdition, Ghost World, American Splendor, and others that are not superhero based. I am not sure about titles like Lil' Abner, Blondie and others from the 30's and 40's that were not superhero based but comic book based.

And I am not trying to be a smart ass....it's an honest question because I've heard of people who say they collect comic book movies on DVD but really don't have the number of titles that are available out there. It would be a truly awesome collection to have if you did have all the comic book movies!

I was at a HMV a while ago and saw a copy with a bonus headband.. Was that a stand alone exclusive for a US retailer?
Later

johnsun 09-15-07 12:03 PM

Hi. I guess no one really reads this thread anymore?

Anyways, I was in the bargian thread and say a post about some $0.01 Bestbuy items including Mythos Ghost Rider book.. Was this what the white hardcover book?

Because I saw a copy at a local warehouse grocery store that had a sticker indicating a bonus Mythos Ghost Rider book.. But it was too busy for me to go to the counter to check if they still had this book there or if it was a small pack-in inside the case..
Later

xage 09-15-07 02:45 PM

The one at bestbuy is a shrinked version of the mythos book.

Yeah, it goes at a penny (to some bestbuy stores who have overstocked it or not sellable).

Im drooling to get the boxset... (its a huge heavy horizontal rectangular shape box with a very detailed flaming Ghost Rider bust)

It was on my hand.. but the freakin store wont sell it.. even if Im offering for the MSRP price of $60 .. their answer.. they might get caught selling it ahead of street date...

Oh well... come Nov 13 that giftset will be mine

onebyone 11-03-07 06:43 PM

So it is big too? I am glad to hear it the details on size were pretty shifty. I better start making room on my Ghost Rider shelf.

Bestbuy = $69.00

Twec stores = $59.00

I went for the

Deep Discount with the 20% = $35

I can get more with the $25 difference

dadaluholla 11-14-07 09:39 AM

That limited edition gift set is $35.97 on the Columbia House website if anyone is a member there (2.99 shipping).

ignition 11-14-07 11:43 AM

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but amazon.com's listing for this has a couple of user-added pictures for this, and I can't help feel disappointing by the box's presentation. Even though I've picked up every single Marvel-movie-related giftset there's been thus far in R1, I'm probably going to pass on this one.

Probably.

xage 11-25-07 08:29 PM

Mine arrived late yesterday. I got it for $35 at DD's 20% off sale (are there anymore cheaper than that?)

Its another great addition to my Ghostrider dipping
