Fincher's 'Zodiac' DVD? Let's speculate...

I loved this film. I realize we're a couple of months away from an official announcement, but this should be an uber-set.
What would you guys like to see?
For me, a '3 Disc Special Edition' featuring...

Theatrical cut
Extended Director's cut (including the Faraday/Jensen murders)

3 Audio Commentaries:

1) David Fincher
2) Cast- Downey,Gyllenhaal and Ruffalo
3) Author Robert Graysmith

2 hour doc : 'Making Zodiac'

Featurettes:
Art Direction: Achieving the look of the period
Photographing 'Zodiac'.

Documentary 'Hunting the Zodiac'
Audio of Zodiac's phone calls
Photo gallery- Zodiac Letters

What else?

Since it's (apparently) Paramount, I wouldn't get my hopes up for a 3-disc set. At least there's a chance the HD versions may get some HD extras.

Were scenes cut that Fincher wanted left in, or do you just want a longer cut?

I read an interview with Fincher and he actually had to cut several scenes out of Zodiac he really didn't want to. One scene was an entire music montage with the screen completely black. The songs were going to change showing the progression of time and last for like three minutes. This would be instead of a title card saying "Four Years Later..." or something.

Yeah, Paramount dvds ae so lackluster but maybe they'll have a Robert Graysmith audio commentary, atleast that will make up for lack of anything else.

Fincher usually comes through on his dvds except you'll have to wait for them. IE. Panic Room and Seven

I don't expect this to be any different.

This is a movie I'd quadruple-dip on, so I'm just hoping they put out the goods.

I'd love to see either the Court TV Forensic Files or some other documentary show about the Zodiac Killer.

I'd like to see a virtual lapdance by Fincher.

Paramount? I coulda' sworn I also saw a WB logo at the start of the film.

Either way, chances are better of getting a good SE right off the bat, instead of waiting for a double-dip, ala Fox/Sony.

Fincher may have it in his deal that he gets creative control on the DVD release. I wouldn't say a 3-disc set but I think he could indeed get a 2-disc set with a couple of commentaries. I think they'll probably have to put he and Graysmith on one track and then the other one can be the cast track though.

Well, hopefully it's distributed by Paramount because Warner has been leaving audio commentaries off. Either way, I'm sure they'll release a 1-disc barebones and a 2-disc with special features (like MI3).

I liked the movie, but it seemed like it had been recut and tinkered with. I hope to see a director's cut some day.

Point taken but Fight Club did get a nice special edition and that one was a flop as well. All I'm saying is there is a chance.

Uh, I'm sort of glad the studio won that fight.

I'd like to see a commentary by one of Graysmith's numerous critics, pointing out all of the inaccuracies or outright lies that Graysmith put into his book that got picked up for the movie.

*That* would be an awesome feature.

Since it's Paramount I will expect:

1. Single disc barebones edition with maybe a trailer
2. 2-disc Collector's edition with lots of extras

I believe Fincher has already moved into pre-production on "Benjamin Button" so I don't think he currently has the necessary time to devote to one of his legendary DVD editions.

I predict a bare-bones release with a SE somewhere down the line.

I'd go for an interview with the killer. If not a sit-down at least a two-way call...

You saw both, it was a co-pro. I'll be surprised if it's barebones, but I don't expect a feature packed release day and date. Fincher's busy and the movie didn't set the box office on fire...I'll be picking up the HD regardless though because I loved the flick.

Here's a wet dream for you, Zodiac gets released in your 3 disc format, with the next instalment of the Director's label getting released the same day, of course with David Fincher's collectio. One can dream can't he....

Fincher has been offered a Directors Label release and he turned them down.

There's so many of his videos and commercials that he isn't exactly proud of that it wouldn't warrant a full DVD release.
