The original "Special Editions" are ALL out of print. The new 2 disc "Ultimate Editions" with the Lowry restorations (which look FANTASTIC) are all available but are sold in the box sets only. MGM has just started releasing the Bond titles as single discs with few extras (but with the Lowry restorations) as individuals about a month back....I think it was around five titles initially. I'm sure the rest will be following in short order. It appears the "Ultimate Editions" will never see individual release.

Yeah. I just scored the old version of VIEW/KILL from columbia house last week. I found it there by accident, and ALL the old versions were there in stock. I went back 2 days later for a few more and they were all gone.

I picked up my copy of the old version of For Your Eyes Only over at Columbia House a couple of weeks ago. I just considered it an error and didn't really think it would be in stock, but it showed up at the door. The only thing different about it was that it contained no booklet like all the others had. I don't know if it was an error in packaging or just something to do with it being a video club package. Beggars can't be choosers.

The new discs with LOWRY-done restorations look terrific but the OOP "Special Editions" looked excellent for the most part. When they were released 5 years ago they were considered prime quality. I see them used at local stores for anywhere between $5-$10 each...they have now become pretty common since the new discs have come out. There are those who still prefer them to the new for many different reasons....

I have the same dilemma. I have all the special editions (plus the two disc Die Another Day) that have become redundant (I assume) since I got the Ultimate Editions sets during the Amazon sale. I was going to put them up on Ebay yesterday (during their 20¢ one day listing fee special) but I realized I don't even know for sure what's on the new ones (I hear there is some content left off the Die Another Day disc that is on the two disc one I have, for instance) or the fact that I got my discs in such a mish-mash way between different set releases that I'm not even sure if they are really Vol. 1, 2, and 3 of the Special Editions or something else because the boxes have different art on them, or even whether Amazon will even shaft me again by coming back later saying my order couldn't be filled after all.
So I'm just keeping them for now and will contemplate whether it's better to sell them individually, as box set volumes, or one big group to make up SOME kind of loss on a double dip or whether to just keep them as was said before and not go through the hassle.
