Black Snake Moan ----> 6/26/07

From davisdvd.com:

Black Snake Moan

Paramount Home Entertainment will release Black Snake Moan on June 26th. Details for the film - starring Samuel L. Jackson, Christina Ricci and Justin Timberlake - haven't been released yet, but look for an anamorphic widescreen presentation and Dolby Digital 5.1 tracks. Retail will be $29.99.

Seems about average these days. Saw III came out in less than 3 months.

Two hours of a mostly naked Christina Ricci writhing around in chains? Finally, Hollywood made a movie for me.

This is a nice trend, getting dvd details while the movie is still in theaters (and new in theaters for that matter)

This just came into my local theaters. No reason to go see it, then, I guess. I'll just pick up the disc.

That's an odd rationale for not seeing it in the theater. Almost every movie that comes out in theaters -- especially a wide release like that -- will eventually show up on DVD, and usually within three to six months. Either you want to see the movie on the big screen or you don't. I don't know why the release date being announced now would stop you from seeing it in the theater. You thought there was a good chance it wouldn't later be on DVD?

I may as well just wait for this to come out instead of catching it theatrically.

I wish DVDs came out on the same day as the theatrical release I'd never go to the theatre again. I look forward to picking this up.

Here's hoping they use the movie poster for the cover for this one, and also here's hoping we get a two disc special edition straight away. I always fear when they rush out DVDs fast like this they are trying to primarily cash in on the rental market and the Joe Six Pack crowd (as opposed to collectors who want the two disc sets) and then the two disc edition will come later.

GREAT movie...my favorite of 2007 so far, and Samuel L. Jackson's best performance since Pulp Fiction; Christina Ricci and Justin Timberlake were also great. This and Zodiac are the most criminally underrated movies to come out in the past year.

Will definitely buy this in one format or another.

Nice cover art. I loved the marketing for this film. I feel like an ass for not seeing it in theaters. How could I pass on Ricci's chained naked backside?

Great film. Probably my 3rd favorite of the year behind Grindhouse and Hot Fuzz. Can't wait for the disc and I am so glad they are using the poster art for the cover!

This also is one of my most-favorite movies of the year as well.
