Bruce Almighty Special Edition coming in June

According to thedigitalbits.com rumor mill, Universal is going to release a special edition of Bruce Almighty.

It was expected, as the sequel, Evan Almighty, will be release in theaters during the summer.

I never thought Bruce Almighty would see a SE, but I doubt it'll be worth double-dipping for.

Hmm... maybe there'll be enough EA footage on it so I won't have to wait until Christmas for the EA DVD in order to madly freeze-frame it looking for myself.

Universal loves to do this type of thing to promote the sequel. More than likely the biggest bonus feature here will be an "exclusive" look at Evan Almighty and they might toss on a couple more deleted scenes that should have stayed on the cutting room floor and maybe a couple other extras that won't really make it worth it.

Well, they were right about an HD release in June, and it's not unheard of to release an new SE if the movie ends up getting remastered. They even mentioned "...that there's some "executive upheaval" going on in the studio's home video division right now...," so maybe the SE was a victim of that.

'Bits posted it as a "rumor" for a reason. Heck, even announced titles sometimes get pulled. Cut them some slack.

Whether it happens soon or in the near future. I'll be adding it to my collection. I have the original bruce almighty, but in fullscreen. So a upgrade is in order.

I found it quicker than the pic I wanted to find...so, pretty much laziness that kept me from searching for what I really wanted.

There's much more important films IMO that need a SE, not Bruce Almighty. I already have the original and it's fine with me.

I think if it's not out by now it may not be out. They were probably trying to get it together to promote Evan Almighty. How many unnecessary SEs have we gotten only to include a couple more bonus features and the trailer for the sequel?
