I can't watch it from this computer, but I have watched about half the movie now, and there are definitely some noticeable digital pans. So obviously the chapter stops are cropped from the image on the DVD. Sorry to doubt you.

Isn't that the most insulting part?

This is mind-boggling: two-disc edition of a film that had nearly no theatrical marketing. So you would assume this dvd would absolutely cater to the film's fans. Then they go and put it out in a MAR.

Was thinkfilm responsible for that? The so-called "controversial producer and distributor of edgy and artful features." Well if so, they screwed it up big time.

Gilliam weighs in on Tideland AR

There is a thread on Tideland at the Home Theater Forum that refers you to this site for the director's opinion of this release:

http://www.filmick.co.uk/2007/03/thi...tter-than.html

There is also an email address for ThinkFilm at the above URL.

Among other things, Mr. Gilliam says he masted the DVD and opened it up to 2.25 (not 1.85 or 1.78) and that: "I think we have to get the word out NOT TO BUY the American version of the DVD."
