Wouldn't a single thread with all the announcements not suffice?

yes, but seeing as each film will be discussed, why not just break them down

The title of this thread is kind of unclear. Michael Douglas is actively participating in the release. Perhaps we'll get a commentary with Schumacher and Douglas. I hope they use the picture that I think is on the back of the DVD, with Douglas' broken glasses, for the cover. It would be a nice homage to the Straw Dogs art (which it might be anyway).

I'll definitely upgrade, although I did pick the 1-disc for $4 at Walmart during one of their holiday sales.

I bought the current release, but it was cheap. I'll definitely be buying a special edition, especially if there's a decent commentary.

So what do you think they'll call it?

"There's a V in Five Edition"
"D-FENS Edition"
"Economically Viable Edition"

..or maybe not

How great would one of those little Wammy Burger statues be as a collectible? Or a D-Fens license plate?

For whatever it's worth, moving forward, my vote would be for one thread which lists all the announcements together, but also a seperate thread for each specific release (obviously, not every release would require a *new* thread, since some have been being discussed for years). That way, people can look at one master list to get the information, but that one thread won't become immediately bogged down and impossible to read (I mean, think about one thread with all the stuff in this thread, all the stuff in the Kubrick thread, all the stuff in the 'Jazz Singer' thread, and all the stuff in the dozens of other threads, and all interspersed with each other so that no conversation would be followable).

which is exactly what was done....you can hit the main HTF chat thread for a small breakdown of what was said, and various threads to discuss specific titles
