Dirty Dancing: UE missing Live in Concert extra?
I bought the Dirty Dancing: Ultimate Edition last week (@ Best Buy $4.99) and am now wondering if Lionsgate dropped an extra from this re-issue.
The 1-Disc collector's edition contained a 90-minute feature called Dirty Dancing: Live in Concert and supposedly, the Ultimate Edition had it too:
From the DVD Talk review back in 2003):
My copy of the 2-Disc Dirty Dancing does not have this and it's not listed on back. I had assumed that when Artisan switched to Lionsgate, this would have been a direct port of the original Ultimate Edition. Also, the top security sticker has 3rd Release (or something to that effect) printed on it.
Is this hidden or did Lionsgate actually drop this and I have to track down the Artisan release now?
Thanks.

Disc Two contains a seemingly long list of extras, but the balloon pops pretty quickly on this one. The longest extra is a 90-minute performance of Dirty Dancing: Live In Concert, but I dare you to sit through it all. It's pretty ridiculous, and does little to salvage what little bit of dignity this film has left in my book.

I'm sorry I can't answer the specific question, but the Artisan UE definitely has it listed as an extra on the back cover. Can you check in a computer for specific files and see if it's still there but not menu accessible?

The original Artisan release of the UE had the 90-minute Live In Concert special, but the re-release by Lionsgate did in fact remove it. Why? I don't know. Could be a rights issue, but the specs for their new Anniversary Edition don't list the 90-minute special either.

Isn't there a 20th Anniversary edition being release in May? I can't believe this is getting a triple-dip

1. Movie-only disc from Artisan that was non-anamorphic with DD 5.1 audio.
2. Special edition disc from Artisan that still non-anamorphic with DD 5.1 audio.
3. Ultimate edition disc from Artisan that was now anamorphic and now had DTS 6.1 ES and DD 5.1 EX tracks along with the original DD 2.0 track.
4. 20th Anniversary edition disc from Lionsgate that is remastered anamorphic with DD 5.1 EX sound. This is coming later this year.
