Question about The Highlander (the movie) DVD
Yesterday I found The Highlander (the movie) on DVD - it's the 10th Anniversary Director's Cut - loaded with extras. I got it for $4 at a pawn shop.
My question is, does it differ in any way from the 2002 release (DTS).
I only ask that since the minutes (116 min) are the same on both discs - so I'm not sure if the 2002 release is the same as the 10th anniv one - altho the track listings look different.
Anyone?

It's common knowledge here that the Republic release is by far one of the worst DVD releases ever. The Anchorbay DTS release is the way to go.

The Republic DVD isn't entirely worthless, as it contains an extra not on either Anchor Bay releases, albeit a poorly authored extra. It has an extensive collection of stills that includes far more pictures than the stills gallery on the Anchor Bay release. Most notably, it contains stills and script for deleted scenes that were filmed but subsequently destroyed. You have to "pause" and "step" through the extra on the Republic disc though, otherwise the stills fly by at 30 frames per second.

Not to say that the original Highlander TV show with Adrian Paul was bad. I absolutely loved it. But the movie sequels are a whole other matter.
