Darn, too bad I don't live in Iowa City anymore. I'd pick up a couple copies of them and score some profit on e-bay. This is an obviously flawed release and should see an actual release date sometime in the future.

mr. coolman 08-25-07 10:01 PM

The new street date is 10/16

Any link confirming that?

starseed 10-23-07 04:34 PM

I don't know what became of the supposed 10/16 street date for this, but this week the same exact DVD that was scheduled for last May and then pulled (but that some people still got from FYE) was released in R2/R4, renamed "Family Fun Edition":

This is very odd, but maybe it signals that the R1 release might be back on track?

Mrs. Doubtfire: Behind-The-Seams Edition is now scheduled for a 3/4/08 release. Maybe it will actually be released this time. It better have all the original features on it.

bluetoast 11-30-07 11:54 AM

Behind....the Seams? Sheesh couldn't they have called it Drive by Fruiting, or Why Wasn't I an Only Child instead?

shyguy1083 03-02-08 07:48 PM

i saw this out early at my local best buy today, but when i picked up the case, it only felt like a one-disc. does anyone know if this "official" release is now a 1-disc instead of the 2-discer that was originally released last year?

chris_sc77 03-02-08 07:54 PM

I so wanted to buy this but since their is no commentary on it I am afraid I am gonna have to pass.

Moleman1138 03-02-08 08:06 PM

It is a double disc. For ten bucks today at CC, that's not bad plus Horton tix.

TheMovieman 03-02-08 08:07 PM

Edit: Nevermind, guess I will pick it up Tuesday. PM at BB for $10.

Well, it appeared in the shipment at work the other day. I think it's safe to say that it's FINALLY getting released.

TheJoker 03-03-08 11:06 PM

I wonder if there are any differences between last years release and this one coming out tomorrow...

hotsexyboi 03-04-08 10:18 AM

it sucks that there isnt' any commentary on this release especially commentary with Robin. I am still buying it either way though. I have to wait til' Friday the 7th to buy it considering my boyfriend hasn't gotten paid yet I called my local Wal-Mart to see if they had it and how much it was and the woman asked if it was a movie..LOL I was like yeah dummy..LOL but anyways she looked for me and it is 14.99 which is a good enough price for me. :)

NiCK Crush 03-04-08 02:50 PM

this is coming out on Blu-Ray in April too... just a heads up

circuit city has it for $9.99 this week FYI if you have a CC near you. an even better price! :)

TheMovieman 03-04-08 05:57 PM

Well, stopped by both CC and BB... neither had it. Guess I'll just wait and get it cheaper later on like I was originally going to do.

mike01 03-04-08 06:37 PM

so can anyone confirm if it is indeed 16*9? The case says widescreen only.

My Bestbuy had all of the Horton movie cash DVD's on a display on the way through the checkout queue. They had them all there, nothing in the DVD aisles.

What's everyone talking about?
Anamorphic version came out months ago & then was pulled for legal reasons?
In fact it's back in the stores today like "Walmart".
I'm talking about the "Behind-The-Seams Edition".

SURE IS!

Deepdiscount has it for $14.00+
Just the animated menus alone is worth the price!

Randy Miller III 03-05-08 01:28 PM

Yep, I was lucky enough to get a copy last year after they were pulled. The transfer is most definitely 16x9 and there are tons of decent extras. Doesn't look like anything was pulled from the new release, which makes me wonder why it was delayed in the first place.

Dane 03-05-08 02:05 PM

So what´s reason why it was pulled? Eanyone know? Any changes from the previous "Behind-The-Seams Edition" release and the new one?

Thinking of buying the Thai 2-Disc Digipak edition, which is a clone of the "Behind-The-Seams Edition"

TheJoker 03-05-08 02:38 PM

Just got back from CC with this! Whoo!

I dont know if anyone noticed this but the screen grabs on the back of the box suck so much especially on the slipcover. The picture quality is terrible and they even left the mouse arrow on the first picture....Its mostly noticeable on the slipcover.

ericn101 03-05-08 05:12 PM

I was at a Safeway grocery store that had an Easter shipper with dvds and it had 4 copies of the "Behind the Seams" w/ a slipcover for $9.99.

shyguy1083 03-05-08 07:02 PM

finally picked this up today! and i was pleasantly surprised with the set as a whole. two-disc filled with good special features, plus (SHOCKINGLY) an INSERT, slipcover and a free movie ticket to boot! nice. got it for $5.40 after Reward Zone certificate, so factoring in the movie ticket, got it for "free" for the most part.

is there any confirmation that this is the EXACT release that was sent to certain stores last year? did they make any changes? perhaps a missing deleted scene, change of music? i initially figured they held back on it so they could promote it more, but i wouldn't have known this was even coming out until i saw it in the weekly ads...
