Congrats, Geoff! I first visited this site soon after I got into DVDs (early 2001), but didn't join the forums until I applied to become a reviewer in 2003. It's probably the most detailed site out there---and the best organized, proportionately. :up:

That's what it basically boils down to for me. Visiting non-moderated or lightly moderated forums is a nightmare compared to here. Probably the best thing about this place. It keeps the kiddies out.

While not my first stop of the day, it IS the most frequently visited one throughout it. I also agree with vasb about getting movie news here. Love TV Talk as well.

I recall being a member back in 1998 but something happened to the records and I didn't re-signup untill much later on. Good times, Good times. I remember getting two sets of Nightmare on Elm Street Collection for the price of 1, Coupons, coupons, coupons.

I was a long time lurker too and registered around 2001 I believe? DVD Talk has been a staple of my Internet diet for as long as i remember surfing the NET! Still miss the real.com deals.

I was aware how long DVDTalk has been here... I guess back in '99 when it looks like the site was founded I was barely on a 56k modem and spent most of that time downloading free songs from napster when I was in high school and stumbled onto the site when I bought my first DVD player my freshman year of college in late 200/early 2002 or somewhere near there for $150. Of course I only had a few DVDs as a poor college kid and didn't come back regularly and register until the past year or so, and think this is a great site with great subforums and other forums- Other, Sports, Store Forum, TV Talk, Etc.
