Silent Partner - April 3

I hope "1.33:1" is incorrect. I'm surprised to see Susannah York's name spelled wrong on the cover.

I've been hoping to see this released for a while myself.

Don't miss John Candy in an early dramatic role.

Silent Partner has been on my DVD wish list for over five years! I've got a copy of the old Vestron Video laser disc but it's a poor transfer and bad pressing (light speckling). The DVD should be a vast improvement. The cover of the DVD is crisp and sharp looking...but where did they get those images? They're not from the movie. Christopher Plummer in disguise standing in front of a bank vault with a gun??? Huh? Three men walking, one with a bag, another with a gun? What movie are these images from? I suppose Lionsgate is trying to build sales with a cover that feels like Reservoir Dogs crossed with The Thomas Crown Affair. But as long as I can find a copy on April 3rd, I'll be happy.

Spelt Gould's and York's names wrong too. Very lazy designers.

Not seen this is many years so might take a look at a good DVD. Hopefully the people who designed that sub-Photoshop cover didn't oversee the transfer.

Great little film. Just hope the full screen description is wrong.

I had the Vestron laser disc, too. Sadly, it fell to laser rot, but not after I had shown it to many friends who also loved. I'll definitely pick this one up.

Apparently the report of full screen was wrong! Or they changed it. Here is the back cover, courtesy of DVD Empire:

Excellent news. Looks like they fixed the names too. I can't wait for this so I can retire my terrible VHS tape!

Been a while since I've seen this -- glad to hear it'll be available in widescreen.

I rented this. It was a barebones presentation. But the av quality was very good. There are screen pics on home theater forum. They messed up on the cover art as it was a canadian movie with canadian money but it has contemp. usa artwork.
