The only laserdisc title (in my collection) that's not released on DVD is the pride of my movie collection (lasers and DVDs):

The Wizard of Speed and Time.

Although I hope to be changing that situation in the not-too-distant future when I finally get around to copying it to DVD. Legally, BTW, because I have permission to do so.

All Phantasm movies are available on R2 DVDs

Sorry, but which versions of the The Cobweb, Fedora, Incident, Mirage, Nocturne, Pitfall, Torch Song and A Tree Grows in Brooklyn are you referring to?

Also, is the extended edition of Hawaii on laserdisc the fully uncut 189 min. version or the slightly trimmed 171 min. version?

I hesitate to incorporate that stuff because I want to keep this list specific and adding every special feature and specialty packaging will almost certainly overwhlem the list. But how about starting a separate thread for all the lost documentaries, commentaries and cool packagings and I'll set up a link to it in the first post? It seems like there's a lot of interest in that stuff too.

My copy of Hawaii claims to be the roadshow version with a run time of 3 hours 10 minutes (190 minutes)

MGM Cat #ML101860 - it's a nice gatefold jacket as well

Wasn't Godzilla vs Biollante released on DVD under a different title (vs sea monster maybe?). It's hard to keep track.

I forgot to mention Blade Runner theatrical cut.

Not to my knowledge. Biollante's a plant, definitely not a sea monster.

Is the Criterion Last Tango a different cut?

Doc Moonlight 01-12-07 07:53 PM

Another one:

Taras Bulba

ALso a correction. The 1938 version of The Buccaneer was never released on LD. I was refering to the 1958 version with Yul Brynner.

Is the Criterion Last Tango a different cut?
Not sure, it's the only one I've seen. But I believe the extras may be different. And of course, it is a Criterion. I scored this one sealed for twenty five cents at a library sale, along with Schinder's List and a third title. Three for under a buck, gotta love it.
