Not true. The Vol. 2 box artwork has changed. See Rainet's post #87 one page 4 of this thread.
http://forum.dvdtalk.com/dvd-talk/48...y-go-4.html#87
You can tell if the Vol. 2 set has the corrected discs by just looking at the cover artwork.

Yes, they will still replace disc #1 of Vol. 1 and both discs for Vol. 2.
They will NOT replace any discs for Vol. 3. The woman I talked to about a month ago said that, "Vol. 3 is fine the way it is." I didn't try to convince her otherwise about the exclusion of Casanova Cat and Mouse Cleaning and the edited version of His Mouse Friday. I figured that the issues surrounding Vol. 3 wasn't her call.

^Cool, thanks LK. I updated my info. Weird about the new cover for Vol.2. I ended up getting lucky and got the old package with the new discs!
The new cover for Vol.2 looks strangely almost exactly like the back cover of the inside digipak from Vol.1!

BTW, did you get a 4"x6" "The 'Tail' of The Tom Collectible Litho Cel" showing Jerry drying himself off with Tom's tail after taking a milk bath in the "old" Vol. 2 digipak? I would like to know if this card came in the "newer/updated" Vol. 2 digipaks, or not.

^Not to my knowledge. I traded for the set which was unwatched, and it had not gone through the replacement process. The trader doesn't remember anything like that in the package and he always leaves all the extras inside. I also traded with the same guy for Vol.1 which the discs needed replacing.

^ For TLK, about the Litho Cel.
Maybe the new packages don't have the cel in it, only the original ones? Only reason I can think mine didn't have it was because it wasn't bought early in its release, probably somewhere in the middle after the new discs were pressed, but before the new packages were made, which is how I got a "combo" release.

Volume 2 packaging appears to have been updated recently and should contain the new corrected discs. Easiest way to describe the "new" cover is Jerry is not holding a piece of cheese, and on the original "old" cover, he is. See post #87 by Rainet in this thread. http://forum.dvdtalk.com/9970497-post87.html
Note: It appears possible to also get the corrected discs in the old packaging too, I got lucky with mine.
Tom & Jerry Spotlight Collection Volume 1:
Bad disc #1:
The .VOBS are dated 8/25/04.
Good disc #1:
The .VOBS are dated 12/30/06.
Tom & Jerry Spotlight Collection Volume 2:
Bad disc #1:
The .VOBS are dated 9/6/2005.
Bad disc #2:
The .VOBS are dated 9/6/2005, 9/8/2005, and 9/13/2005.
Good disc #1:
The .VOBS are dated 12/7/2005 and 12/8/2005.
Good disc #2:
The .VOBS are dated 12/7/2005.
For people that don't know, this is just a reminder of what the "issues" were on the sets:
Volume 1
Quote:
Disc 1
"The Milky Waif" - Jerry and Nibbles using shoe polish to disguise as black mice.
"The Truce Hurts" - A meat truck splashes mud on Spike, Tom, and Jerry, leaving them in blackface.
"The Little Orphan" - Tom gets burnt by a candle and turned into a 'pickaninny'.
Volume 2
Quote:
There are three cartoons where Mammy's voice appears to be in a different acoustic from the rest of the cartoon, and she sounds like a voice actor imitating the original. These are "The Lonesome Mouse" on disc 1, and "Saturday Evening Puss" and "Nit-Witty Kitty," both on disc 2. Apparently these "redubbed" prints are from a British Tom and Jerry DVD -- Tom and Jerry are huge in England -- where Mammy's voice was redubbed to give her a marginally less exaggerated accent.
=================
Vol.3
missing 2: "Mouse Cleaning" and "Casanova Cat" and contains an edited version of His Mouse Friday.
