but why should the people who received the bad disc again call up? They already know who they sent the bad discs to, and they just need to get the correct discs and re-send them out. Simple.

Simple? Yeah. In theory. They are a large system. I called today about it and was told that the operator would inform her supervisor who would then inform her supervisor and my infor was taken down.

Recognise that system?

It's beaurocratic hoo haa.

I agree they should review their files and fix things. And who knows. Given time maybe they would. Just last week CostCo sent me a letter and a copy of a letter from Warners about the Superman discs. But I had already been through the rigamoral and my discs were on the way.

It's probably a good idea to keep on top of it just because they are such a big company they'll forget any wheel that isn't in need of oil.

I just received my second package from WB in replacing T&J vol 1. This time the content is different. There's a warning at the beginning of the disc about the content (I don't recall if this was on the original release or not).

"The Milky Waif" - Jerry and Nibbles using shoe polish to disguise as black mice.
Yep, that's in there now

"The Truce Hurts" - A meat truck splashes mud on Spike, Tom, and Jerry, leaving them in blackface.
Also back in place.

"The Little Orphan" - Tom gets burnt by a candle and turned into a 'pickaninny'.
Okay, I just found this scene. So, all the reported deleted stuff is back.

Oddly enough, when I called back I was told I was already on the list to get the replacement for the replacement. I'm going to assume everyone who got the original replacement will most likely receive the lastest issue.

Buttmunker 02-02-07 04:05 PM

Just got my 2nd replacement today, too. I'm at work, though, so I have to wait to report whether or not its okay.

I have to assume it is, since the fella above me said his was okay (with the possible exception of The Little Orphan).

darmok 02-02-07 04:08 PM

okay, sounds like some of you are getting the right discs, so just called it in. thanks, folks.

Laser Movies 02-02-07 04:14 PM

Also received my new disc today. The warning does appear to be new since it wasn't on the earlier disc. Also checking the video files it appears the new version was created December 30, 2006. Looks like Warner got it right this time around.

DVDFreaker 02-02-07 05:22 PM

I am still waiting for Volume 2 replacement discs and the evelope, it has been 2 months already :(

If you haven't received it by now I would call again. It shouldn't take that long. It took me two calls to get volume 2 because it never showed up after a month of waiting. When I called to inquire about the delay they claimed it was mailed 3 weeks ago. They sent me another one and got it in about a week.

I will call on Monday, I tried calling them a minute ago, they are closed

Actually I just called 2 minutes ago and they are going to send out the replacements. The lady really didnt understand as I was guiding her through what was wrong. Hopefullly I get them replaced with the correct ones this time.

sparks 02-02-07 11:10 PM

Last week I received 2 discs for Vol 1, disc 1 is still wrong like everyone elses.

Today I received 2 packages. I'll find out what they contain tomorrow and report back.

bshassel 02-03-07 01:47 PM

Wow, what a nice surprise. I never called again for a 2nd replacement, but I just received the corrected 1st disc in the mail! I haven't verified the corrections, but I can state that the files on the disc were created only a couple days ago. So I guess we didn't have to call back after all. Seemed strange that we would need to anyway since they already have our information.

bshassel 02-03-07 02:09 PM

Well, I just watched The Little Orphan and Tom now gets burnt by a candle and turnes into a 'pickaninny'. No more edit!

Good Job Warner.

RockyMtnBri 02-03-07 02:55 PM

Received mine today and there are no edits. In fact I don't remember if the original disc had the gold-toned disclaimer page like the Looney Tunes sets do, but it's there now.

Buttmunker 02-03-07 03:09 PM

what I love is that, like the original Vol.I, you can press Menu to bypass all the malarchy and go right to the cartoons.

Declaimer? What declaimer?! HAHA - useless thing.

nemein 02-03-07 04:42 PM

Got the correct replacement for the first set (it's just the first DVD that has the issues right, that's all they sent this time). Still no word on the replacements for the 2nd set though, even though both were "ordered" at the same time :scratch2:

RockyMtnBri 02-03-07 04:48 PM

Hey Buttmunker...

I mentioned that so that folks know it's a newer disc right off the bat.

sparks 02-05-07 08:16 AM

Disc 1 Vol.1 is okay and so is disc 1 & 2 Vol.2.

A happy camper now!

JerryKILL 02-05-07 08:53 AM

I received my replacement-replacement disc for Vol 1 over the weekend. Checked em out, and they are indeed now uncensored. As a reminder, here are the scenes to look for....

• In THE MILKY WAIF, Jerry and Tuffy disguise themselves as a black lady and her child in an effort to fool Tom. While disguised, Jerry speaks to Tom in a Southern accent.
• In THE TRUCE HURTS, a truck runs past Tom, Jerry, and Spike on the road, splashing mud up onto them and leaving them in blackface.
• In THE LITTLE ORPHAN, a candle lands on Tom's tail and causes his fur to incinerate, leaving him charred and in blackface. The cut version of this scene simply stops after the candle lands on Tom's tail, before his fur incinerates.

RockyMtnBri 02-05-07 11:35 AM

sparks...

I assume you received your Volume 2 discs?

UPDATE: I received my discs in the mail today!

DVDFreaker 02-05-07 05:55 PM

I finally got the replacement discs for Volume 2, now I need to send the discs for Volume 1 tomorrow

Chooch 02-07-07 07:39 AM

I got my volume one corrected disc on Monday and the volume 2 corrected discs a couple of weeks ago. Glad Warner corrected their mistakes.

Dan G 02-18-07 01:01 PM

How long did it take for the Vol. 1 envelopes to be sent? I called the number several weeks ago when it was announced and I have yet to receive anything.

Chooch 02-18-07 07:35 PM

It took volume two discs about a 6 weeks to come. Volume one only took about two weeks. I don't know if it was because I was already in the system or not.

A happy camper now!

What are the .VOB dates on the T&J volume 2 discs?

Update: Never mind. I found the answer I was looking for. By the way, the corrected discs for T&J: Vol. 2 should contain .VOB files created on 12/7/2005.

Icon769 04-27-07 07:58 PM

I finally got my Replacement for Vol.1. They only sent me disc 1. So disc 2 was not affected, am I right? Or do they still owe me disc 2?

No offense, but did you even try reading the very first post in this thread?

Does anyone know if they are still replacing these discs? I guess I will have to call to find out for sure.

Re: Tom & Jerry Spotlight Collection: Vol.1 REPLACEMENT PROGRAM READY TO GO!

Thanks for checking, I've held off on buying them for a long time, I may take the plunge sooner rather than later now.

Wanted to let you know you weren't just talking to yourself here :)

Re: Tom & Jerry Spotlight Collection: Vol.1 REPLACEMENT PROGRAM READY TO GO!

Thanks for bumping the thread basaro, I had been procrastinating forever calling for the replacement on T&J V1 and forgot about it. Just got off the phone and the girl told me they are sending the replacement disc and return envelope together. We'll see if that's what happens, I thought you had to return the disc first before getting the replacement. It's cool either way. Only on hold about a minute.

basaro 08-11-09 02:03 PM

Re: Tom & Jerry Spotlight Collection: Vol.1 REPLACEMENT PROGRAM READY TO GO!

^You're welcome, same story here...

The copy of Vol.2 I just picked up in a trade was the new version, so I didn't need to get replacements for that, but I just called about disc 1 for Vol.1 and he said I'd receive it in 7-10 days. Hopefully it will only take that long. :)

basaro 08-19-09 12:43 PM

Re: Tom & Jerry Spotlight Collection: Vol.1 REPLACEMENT PROGRAM READY TO GO!

I got my replacement today with SASE envelope for returning. So, it only took 8 days for me, sweet! :) The bad copy is already back in the mail to return.

Is there a replacement for Vol 3 yet?

hilts 09-08-09 10:46 AM

Re: Tom & Jerry Spotlight Collection: Vol.1 REPLACEMENT PROGRAM READY TO GO!

Got my replacement disk and return envelope for T&J V1 last week, so mine took a little over 3 weeks. Nice of WB to make the process so easy.

Re: Tom & Jerry Spotlight Collection: Vol.1 REPLACEMENT PROGRAM READY TO GO!

Thanks to the current Tom & Jerry thread in the movie forum. I have an urge to purchase the three spotlight editions. Do these dvds now come with the unedited editions when bought in the stores now or do i have to send these ( all three?) back to WB for replacements?

Buttmunker 01-28-10 07:15 AM

Re: Tom & Jerry Spotlight Collection: Vol.1 REPLACEMENT PROGRAM READY TO GO!

Don't hold me to it, but I did hear that the retail stores all have the corrected discs. I'm going to buy them (again) just to make sure. As backup. If they're not correct, I'll send them in for the replacements. Gotta keep backups because if something happens to your Spotlight collection, and they stop making these....shame on you.

Cool, report back when you can. I was going to get Vol. 1 when it was first released. But when the backlash came i help off. Now it's been over 5 years and the urge is back. Wish they would have a complete box set with the complete series with the shorts in order. But i'm nitpicking there.
