Looking For Mr. Goodbar
Just got wind that this is suppose to get a DVD release sometime in 2007. June 2007 will be the 30th anniversary of this movie, so maybe it's release will be around the same time.

I must assume the source was not reliable, as we still do not have this great film on DVD. I don't get it. Diane Keaton would have won the Oscar for this film, had not Annie Hall been released the same year (1977). This is a major film, a noteworthy film, and a damn well acted film that has a lot of familiar faces (Tom Berenger, Richard Gere, Tuesday Weld).
Any news on this title yet? Jeez-louise!!

I would imagine it will be available in the near future via Warner's MOD program

We have the internet. A lot of titles released I never see at a store, mainly because they wouldn't have the room for new releases every Tuesday. That's where Amazon comes in.
Release the title and let people order it online like they mostly have been doing for awhile now. It's impossible for a store to shelve as many new titles that get released every week. Impossible.

I think I read somewhere that the reason why this has never come out has to to do with an issue with the rights...a shame as I love this film.

The studios make more profit in releasing Blu-Rays of more familiar films and that's where their resources are being focused.
I'm with you in preferring more classic releases and there's still quite a few I've been waiting for the last 10 years. At least there is a MOD program where I'm sure Goodbar will eventually land. I'll get it when it does
