Definitely picking this one up.

I just hope for at least a 2-disc set.

Giles 12-19-06 12:16 PM

well that was quick - missed it in the theatre, looking forward to renting this.

ReduxGuy 12-19-06 01:42 PM

I don't like the artwork.

It looks better in dark gray.

lordwow 12-19-06 01:44 PM

I'll wait for the box set with Letters.

When I saw the poster, I just knew they'd zoom in on it too.

I hope this will be released in HD as well.

apparently not going to happen since the movies are distributed through diffrent companies

"Flags of Our Fathers" & "Letters From..." think we'll get a 2fer complete package?

dpz301 12-20-06 05:39 PM

missed this in theatres, can't wait to pick it up. hoping for a 2 discer!

Willh51 01-18-07 09:16 PM

Any word on extras for this yet? It's only two weeks away and I'm debating doing a blind buy. If it's barebones, I'll definitely pass.

-------

No extras on this based on reviews from several sites. I may contradict my earlier statement and buy, b/c the extras on Clint's dvds are not very good anyway, and I wouldn't say 100% there will be a double dip.

Mr. Cinema 01-25-07 08:50 PM

I can't find a damn thing about this. I suppose Clint didn't have time for any features on the disc. I'm hoping for at least the trailer. I'm sure Warners will give us a loaded disc for Letters from Iwo Jima.

Dirty 01-26-07 12:15 AM

No features on here. :(

Wow. Not even the trailer?

That's bizzarre, to say the least.

I'll buy it as I thought it was a great film (NOWHERE near as astonishing as Letters) and sell it when the ultimate Iwo Jima set is released.

Jim 01-26-07 09:26 AM

No chapter selections either which is different.

That's not different. That's bizzare and annoying.

no special features=not interested..
i for one am getting pissed off at the lack of special features on these high profile major studio releases...
(The Prestige, Casino Royale, V for Vendetta, The Departed, Little Children, Flags...etc.)
What is the deal with this trend???

bunkaroo 01-26-07 05:27 PM

Renting this and buying the hopefully forthcoming HD release.

Simpson Purist 01-26-07 06:00 PM

Not surprised at the lack of special features, still I'm excited to rent this.

No chapter selection also. Is Clint Eastwood taking the David Lynch route?

LorenzoL 01-27-07 08:29 AM

I can understand the lack of special features (trailers, commentaries, etc.) but lack of chapter selection??? That's BS.

Jim 01-27-07 02:47 PM

I think I'm going to wait unit Letters From Iwo Jima comes out to get Flags. I bet some retailer will have a deal if you get both.
