Casino Royale --> 3/13/2007
Only known specs are a 2 Disc and UMD release.
Confirmed date for now...more info and specs when it's officially announced on January 15th! |
Sweet. I hope they put the original 50's Casino Royale teleplay on this release like they did for the dreadful 60's Casino Royale dvd (which I refuse to own). It couldn't be very expensive.

Wow, quick!
|
Great! I wasn't expecting it until May.
|
Must-buy.

well, i am surprised it's not 2 disc edition, 1 disc edition, UMD edition.
|
Awesome, I hope the special features live up to the high standards of the Bond UE discs.
|
It better be released on Blu-ray.

so is their confrimation on who is releasing/distributing this... Fox or Sony?
|
YES!!!
Hopefully, Fox has it. Then we can get a kickass DTS-ES track and all the trailers. Hopefully a send-off for an exclusive box to hold ALL the Bond films and a special case for CR. |

I wouldn't completely rule out an "exclusive Bond case".
First and foremost I wanna say that I wouldn't hold my breath for one even if it was an MGM/Fox title like the previous 20 films, but this certainly isn't a case where the two entities couldn't work something out. #1: As far as I know, Fox handles most of the stuff like distribution and manufacture but Sony is still involved in the process (I mean, Fox got the video catalogue but Sony still owns the rest of MGM). #2: If it comes down to being something Sony wants to do but they need to get the approval from Fox Fox certainly isn't gonna be like "you want to offer a box that would inspire people to buy the 20 previous Bond films that we own the rights to? The hell you say!" #3: Even if they did wanna put the kibosh on it, does Fox own the patent to a box of the exact dimensions necessary for "Casino Royale" and the previous 20 films? If they wanted to offer a box that actually listed the Fox-controlled films they might hit a snag but there couldn't possibly be a problem of offering a Box that says nothing but "James Bond" and/or "007". #4: Sony licensed "Dr. Strangelove" to Warner Bros. for their Kubrick box set and like the films of Kubrick (which are controlled by the Kubrick Estate) all 21 "official" Bond films are controlled by EON productions. They probably have enough pull on both sides (Fox and Sony) to make something happen when it comes to including "Casino Royale" alongside the other 20 films. |
Good flick. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

I'm glad it'll be a Sony BD release. That means it'll have a PCM track and likely all the extras. Fox doesn't seem to care about extras for BD at the moment, yet uses the highest retail listing of $39.99.

This is by far the worst Bond movie i've ever seen. I didn't like Craig as bond but i love the bond movies and gave it a try. Very very bad, how can you guys like this one. I though A View to a Kill was bad, this new one tops it. Very bad in my opinion. Then again it is only my opinion.
