I'd wish they'd release the syndicated "new" version that ran for two seasons between 1993 and 1994. That was a GREAT show that few people have seen. William Forsythe's Capone was the "definitive" on-screen version...even better than DeNiro, if you can believe that!

I've heard good things, looks like a blind buy will be coming shortly.

The page says no closed captioning. THAT really sucks. This is another show that I would love to see, beginning to end, with closed captioning so I can follow everything. Dark Shadows is the other show...that is neither closed captioned nor subtitled. Bastards.

I agree that the newer version was great, too!

Why no edit button to edit our own threads??

Big bump here...but if anyone wants to know, the Untouchables IS indeed closed captioned. Helps a lot, too. Great set!

Can't wait ti'll part 2 comes out but I hope paramount just releases Season sets from now on for The Untouchables & Streets of San Francisco (part 2 is being released the same day!) instead of this breaking it like HBO sets.
I have to say though that I was extremly impressed by the picture esp. considering its from the god damn 50's & I collect ALOT of TV ON DVD titles & even through its in black & white it looks better then most of the shows on DVD that originally aired in the 70's.
Paramount has really been impressing me as of late with there TV ON DVD titles esp. the excellent treatment Hawaii Five-O got for its first season.
