original TCM for me.

I was disappointed with 'Cemetary Man' as a blind buy aftre the DDD sale earlier in the year (prepares to take the abuse )

After seeing the trailers I'll be blind buying 'The Descent'

Not sure it qualifies as horror, but The Devil's Backbone is my pick.

I'm surprised by all of the support for The Descent. I thought it was terrible, due in no small part to...

Spoiler:
...inconsistencies with the monsters. They're supposed to be blind, but they could have fooled me on a number of occasions.

I do like the original ending much better than the truncated American one, though.

In the Mouth of Madness
Hard Candy (okay it's not really horror.. but it's pretty horrific!)

They're like bats son!

And mine would be Dead & Breakfast, I only have something like 4 blind buy horrors and 2 of them suck ass.

I know, but come on...

Spoiler:
...for one example, how did the mother creature "see" her dead child in the pool of blood?

But, it wouldn't be horror if it didn't have inconsistencies.

Speaking of which, my worst blind buy was the Korean film Nightmare. I have never seen security cameras with such good eyes for shot composition and editing.

I blind bought "Cabin Fever" a couple of years ago on a friend's recommendation. Great movie.

Excellent choices! I heartily agree on all, and would add, as my own personal best blind buys:

Pin
Lemora, A Child's Tale of the Supernatural
Session 9
May

and most recently:
Head Trauma

I would highly recommend all of the above to anyone who likes offbeat, intelligent horror films.

Magic, I'm totally with you on Cemetary Man -- not really a horror film, more a comedy, and not that funny....
I think you'll like The Descent though....

I'm a huge horror fan, so haven't done a lot of completely blind buys, but 2 outstanding ones for me were A Tale of Two Sisters and High Tension.

Finally chased down a copy of Black Christmas and I have to say this was a great one! Nice little X-mas tale! This was a definite blind buy for me and I am glad I bought it! It's Me Billy!

Probably the best horror blind buy I've made was Anatomy. I bought it from the Wal-Mart bargain bin. Terriffic horror flick!

The best:
Audition

The worst:
I am really disappoint with Dario Argento's more recent movies. (what happend to him?)
I can't even finish "card player" and "Trauma" without pushing "fast-forward".
needless to say, I had them trade-in/sell immediately. I won't "blind buy" his new movie again.

Either the best/worset:
blind buy "Tetseo-Iron Man"... it is so disgusting that I have to stop the movie half way (later on watch again and finished it.) I trade-in afterward but have been considering watch again..

I picked up 'High Tension' when BB had it for $3.99 in the late summer and have still yet to get around to watching it. Maybe one of these days....

I also Netflixed 'Feast' and was pleasently surprised by it and enjoyed it very much

Besides, the already mentioned Audition and Descent I have to add Shutter. It's good for repeated viewing with others.
