The Keep DVD?
Hail
Anyone remember The Keep? Based on the F.Paul Wilson novel and directed by Michael Mann in 1983, this movie was a cult classic and one of my personal favourites. The problem is that for some reason it was never released on DVD(which really pisses me off considering they release crap like Ninja Terminator on DVD). I've heard that a comic series based on the original novel is due to be released so that may start the ball rolling. Anyone heard anything different?

I remember reading that there was supposed to be one, and at one time a release was listed to come out late 2004, but Mann was too busy w/ Miami Vice at the time. It may likely be only a rumor, but that was the last I read. This led me to believe (and others have speculated) that the dvd would be some sort of special edition with Mann involved. It would be nice to have all the deleted/ alternate footage in one place and a commentary. Anyone have any contacts @ Paramount's home video dept.?

That was a joke picture Joe29.
I also remember The Keep, although my memory of it is vague.
Possibly, I just loved the trailer/commercials for it, although I may have rented it on VHS back in the day.
I'd buy it if it ever came out. Great cast....browsing it's imdb entry now.....

I thought the movie was a bit incomprehensible and pales when compared to the novel. But then again, if you haven't read the novel it really doesn't matter. I seem to remember some talk of a director's cut at some point....
