I haven't seen the director's cut, but I prefer the theatrical cut over the extended "Badder Santa." In the extended version, the gun fight near the end of the movie is paced badly just for the sake of showing explosions from the bullet hits. It's a minor nitpick, but it's just badly edited compared to the theatrical cut.

I'd go with the DC but suggest at some point getting Badder Santa. I have both and I liked the changes made in the DC but at the same time I like the extra and extended scenes in badder.
IMO, the ending is better in the DC.

I personally prefer Badder Santa. It has all the laughs from the theatrical with a few extra in there for a good measure. The pacing might suffer a tad but its a good trade off. The Directors Cut removes too many scenes I fell in love with in the theater (such as the boxing scene).
