Where is the 'Rules of Attraction' SE?

I had heard talk of a special edition to Roger Avery's Rules of Attraction. But no sign of a DVD or a press-release at all. Any one have some info?

What, the "Weird Al" commentary wasn't good enough for you?

I love the book as well as the movie (It's a very shocking experience to read and watch the film in 12th grade english as you are applying to colleges), but personally I don't know how they could improve upon the original DVD.

The Film is in Anamorphic Widescreen, and with special features there is the documentary, trailers, as well as FIVE commentaries...

Damn internet, can't trust anything! Sorry guys, yep, seems Carrot Top was the "mystery guest". I had read that Al had done a commentary, so now I'm really confused. Now I'll have to rent the damn thing and figure out where the "Weird Al" rumor came from. Sorry again. Doh!

I can think of a few things myself:

- remastered 5.1
- Ellis/Avery commentary
- actual behind the scenes documentarys
- deleted scenes
- those small internet trailers
- more trailers
- more stuff, but I can't think of it now.

I would love the unrated cut and the original surround mix for starters!

Gliterrati is also the perfect bonus feature.

I imagine that if Avery every gets Glamorama made we'll get a special edition then.

That would be great, especially an Ellis/Avery commentary. I'm a big fan of the film, and I'm really surprised that after all this time, there still isn't an R1 SE.

I don't think the first DVD sold so well, and now it can be found for under $10. I wouldn't expect an SE, well, ever.

We need the uncut version of the film(which is only 22 seconds, but still, uncut is important) and a 5.1 mix. Whatever other extras that could be included though, would kick major ass as well.

And that's pretty amazing to be reading the book and viewing the movie in high school. I wish I had a high school that was as cool as that! But if it's any consideration,I did spend the last month of my senior year in high school reading American Psycho for the first time and bursting out laughing in class a few times and drawing attention to myself. Which resulted in some people including a few hot girls wanting to read passages from it(every day!),to see what it was all about. Sure enough, they loved the explicitly detailed sex scenes, though stopped before the murder and tortures began. I guess I should have tried to ask one of them out,but I was too shy and stupid to be brave enough to do that.

It's the only really memorable part of high school for myself and one big 'what if' or 'if only..'. Oh well. I still enjoyed the book at least and it's one of my all time favorites.

I don't know where it is, but it's a necessity. The movie is highly underrated.

I liked the movie. Most of my friends hate it but to each his own.

CRAP!!! I forgot about Glitterati.

I read Avery abandoned doing Glamorama.

I say thank God because, as much as I love seeing Ellis on the big screen, his works are horrifically butched on screen.

i don't seem much wrong with the dvd release out now, except for maybe a guide to the music in the film. i love the 'anatomy of a scene' feature.

I had a very radical english teacher for 11th and 12th AP English and basically the school let her do what she wanted - although with books like this we (the students) had to purchase our own copies and the such. Her reasoning behind having us read the book was because she wanted us to read something 'modern,' by an author close to our age, and also because she wanted to show us that college life was going to be very eye-opening. While I must say college life really isn't anything like the book, it definately prepares one of the things that happen in college that you don't expect.
