Jurassic Park - time for a new transfer

I watch JP the other night (ISF'd and well calibrated Sony 57" CRT RPTV with Denon 2930CI DVD player at 1080i HDMI) and clearly this movie needs a new transfer -- or at least re-authoring & re-compressioning. Aside from some inherent film grain (which I'm OK with), there is excessive video artifacting probably because compressioning techniques have greatly improved in the last six years and because the extras are on the same disc as the film. Major compromise on video quality. Unfortunately, Universal doesn't seem to want to put forth the effort -- especially considering fairly recently they released a three-pack of all three movies with the existing transfers.

That can be said for most Universal releases.

Universal will probably re-release this with a "remastered transfer" when Jurassic Park 4 comes out. Also, Jurassic Park will eventually get an HD DVD release.
