FORBIDDEN PLANET S.E. Query?

Hello all! I just received our copy of the "2-Disc 50th Anniversary Special Edition" of FORBIDDEN PLANET from DDD. We did not order the deluxe edition with the Robby Toy. The problem is that our DVD was opened (no plastic seal and no white I.D. sticker on top of the case), which isn't a real problem as long as nothing was missing from inside. Were there any inserts? I thought there was supposed to be a booklet?

I bought mine at Target & it had no security sticker tape thing whatever you call its at all around the edges (first I've seen this). There was just an insert for Turner Classic Movies. Nuffin' else.

I saw this too at Best Buy. All of the copies (probably 20 or so) were opened with no sticker/security thing or plastic wrap or anything. I mentioned it to the salesman who asked a manager and they were both surprised but one of the other employees said that every once in a while they get shipments of certain movies that have no wrapping. I thought about buying it but decided not to get it that way and went to Circuit City and got a wrapped up new package like normal. Maybe they get those every once in a while but after MANY Best Buy purchases, that's the first I've ever seen of it.

Thank you both! It sounds like I wasn't missing anything as the only insert I had was also the TCM flyer. Mystery solved!!!

Strangely, I have yet to see it at the Best Buys near me. I bought it at Target and it had the white security strip, TCM insert, etc.

I got my copy from DDD yesterday and it wasn't shrinkwrapped either. Very strange, but no big deal, I guess. Both discs were clean.

My guess is that the distributor is shipping some of the unsealled ones, which are included in the CE tin set, as regualr SEs.

I'm waiting on my CE set to arrive and bet it will included an unsealled one inside.

Bad guess...the case in the CE tin is completely different; it's more like a tri-fold digipak, with radically different (and substantially better) artwork.
