I understand that season 6 of The Shield will air next March. Any word of the DVD release of Season 5? I haven't seen it, but unfortunately know how it ends.

I've been anticipating this, as well. Haven't seen any of this season, and it's killing me. Hoping for their usual December release, although with the next season premiering later, I won't be surprised if we're looking at late January/early February.

I'm in the same boat as you guys. I blind bought the shield season 1 & 2 from walmart.com for 20 a piece and then wound up buying season 3 & 4 at full price the following week after me and eventually my younger brother got hooked watching the show.

With the show getting pushed back until March, they are probably holding back the DVD release date until Feb.

That stinks, I was hoping I'd have more time to view the season before the next one airs.

tvshowsondvd.com is saying the same thing everyone here has said; that the DVD release will likely coincide with next season's premiere.

I have already seen season 5, but I'm still anxious to see it again.

I've heard of middle of February a few weeks before the March premier.

and what about an anamorphic release for THE SHIELD as well ??

(Aussie here - we only have S1 and 2 out - in 1.78:1 - still waiting for 3 and 4 to ever get released in R2/4 - Sadly if it doesnt, I'll have to look at the 4x3 R1 transfers - which doesnt please me much !!!)

For seasons 1-4 at least, 4:3 is the OAR. (Except for one episode in season 4, which was shot in widescreen and IIRC is anamorphic on the R1 set.)

I'm guessing F/X will rerun S5 right before S6... tivo time...

Oh no, I thought it would be premiering January as usual I hate waiting between these shows, especially with that season finale.

The S5 episodes are starting to be re-run NOW on F/X. Check your local listings, and set your tivo.

Great to see other people fretting over this. I caught about half of Season 5 last year, and really expected to be able to fill in the blanks by now. When I think about it, it's a bit frustrating.

Still no word on who's doing the commentary for "Kavanaugh." I'm hoping Whitaker and Chiklis, as that ep was probably one of their finest moments on the show.
