Arrested Development Season 3 - Bad DVD's

I just received my second copy of Arrested Development Season 3 after returning the first set due to problems with certain episodes skipping and sticking.

Now I just took a quick look at my new copy and I have DVD problems AGAIN ... but on different episodes.

Damn!

Must be a bad pressing or something.

Anybody else have problems with their Arrested Development Season 3 DVD sets?

Have you watched ALL of the episodes yet?

You might be in for a rude surprise.

I bought mine on release day, and watched the entire season plus all the DVD features shortly thereafter and experienced absolutely no problems at all.

Well that's good news. That means they are not ALL bad.

I just have to find a good set.

Need to send this one back to DDD for another replacement set.

I have experienced issues with mine as well. My dvd player seems to think they're dirty also, even though they're also pretty new. I thought it was just my lens.

I had no problems either. I watched all episodes plus commentaries.

I've watched the entire season with no problems on my Phillips.

I then watched some episodes w/ commentary on my Toshiba TV/DVD combo and noticed it hiccup a few times, but I believe its the stupid player because I backed it up and it did not do it again.

I also received mine on release day, and have watched all episodes and specials, with no problems at all.

I bought mine release week and have watched all the episodes with no problems on my Denon DVD-2200 player.

Ditto.

Steve & Dick, did you try them on other players?

I would definately take Mike's advice (if you haven't already) because my set played from beginning to end without an issue.

Sounds like DDD got a bad batch. Mine from Amazon worked perfectly front to back.

I have not tried to play them on other players, but that DVD player plays other DVD's just fine, and even if it does play on my other DVD players that is not acceptable to me. I want to be able to watch the shows anywhere I want.

I think I will go for set #3 from DDD. At least they are good about exchanging DVD's for free.

I had the same problem with the "Casino" DVD set awhile back, but there were many more complaints on DVD Talk about bad disks with that set. So far only Dick and I seem to be reporting any problems with AD3.

Thanks for all the feedback.

I got mine from Best Buy and haven't seen the issue myself (I gave it to a friend to watch) and they reported the issue......

For some reason, I picture him doing this as he said that:

I tried playing the bad disk in another DVD player and it played fine.

So I went back to my main DVD player and it didn't "stick" or "skip" as before.

Strange.

I have seen this kind of behavior before on DVD's that I burned myself on cheap DVD media, but never with a studio DVD pressing.

So the bottom line seems to be that the Arrested Development Series 3 DVD set plays on MOST DVD players, but it does seem to have some minor flaws causing it to have hiccups on some DVD players.

I am keeping this set of AD3 after all.
