Will Columbia ever drop their prices?

The following have been $19.14 at DDD for a few years now:

On The Waterfront
Curse Of The Demon
In A Lonely Place
The Lady From Shanghai
In Cold Blood
Gloria
Anatomy Of A Murder
Requeim For A Heavyweight

I'm sure there are others.

You might want to check out if they are available via Columbia House. There were a few Columbia Classics movies like It Happened One Night, Only Angels have Wings, Mr. Smith goes to Washington that I picked up there for less than 1/2 of what other sites were asking.

I saw that in a dump bin at Wal-Mart before for $5.50, but that was several months ago. I think it was one of the "limited" dump bins, with titles like Terminator 3 (which was fullscreen BTW).

It was definitely the special edition, in a double-wide case.

I've been waiting for an affordable DAS BOOT: The Original Uncut Version. And waiting. And waiting...

I think all of my Columbia Classics have come from Columbia House. I picked up Night/Curse of the Demon recently at Blockbuster PV for $5. I have seen it at a couple of other BB's since then. They told me they were clearing out the titles that did not rent well.

Columbia House is a great way to pick up most of the Columbia Classics. I just wish they carried The Big Heat which is $20 or more everywhere else.

Yup, you gotta go the CH way to get em' on the cheap...

I agree though, for what you get the MSRP is too high.

These, plus the Big Heat, are the three most glaring examples of missing pieces in my film noir collection. I just can't bring myself to spend $20 on any of them, good as the movies may be. I've checked the DVD Price Drops thread posted in the bargains section every week for at least a couple of years, hoping every time to find these titles mentioned, but it hasn't happened yet.

Brainscan is another that has never had a price drop and is 19.14 at DDD. I cant figure it out. I dont think I have ever seen it in a B&M store since it came out 4 or 5 years ago.

I got On the Waterfront for free some time ago in a mail in offer thing.
