That's a cover that'll get the kiddies crying to their mommy at best buy. I too missed this in theaters. Big fan of the original and I can't wait to blind-buy it.

ehh, I might check out the unrated cut. I was one of the few in the theater that actually half liked the movie. A few people in the theater that i saw it at actually booed the screen when it was over. Oh, and outside of a few scenes and plot points, the movie is not very faithfull to the original, in terms of being like a remake.

I didn't get a chance to catch this in the theater so its a definate rental, yet with 'Wes Craven's' name attached and Kristine Bell/Ian Somerhalder starring I could be persauded to blind-purchase if the price is right...

I saw it and would definitely recommend those blind buyers think twice... easily one of the worst movies of the year... I may give it a second chance on disc, but I don't see it getting any better...

And if you think the original is arty and vague, and would prefer a bit of the old genre conventions mixed in with a more traditional narrative and frights... you'll probably still hate it. It's a massively sucky film.

Wes Craven apparently was supposed to direct this, but he didn't like the way things were going and dropped out. They still gave him a writing credit but he disowns having any part of the movie.

The plot intrigues me, as does the fact that Kristen Bell stars in it. A friend and I were going to see it in theatres, but we never did, due to it getting terrible reviews. This will be rental for me. I'll probably just get my friend to rent it for us, because he works at Rogers Video and can rent two free movies per day.
I also like the cover art a lot.
