Porky's Special Edition ----> 10/24/06

Amazon.com is listing Porky's Widescreen special Edition coming out on Oct 24th. No specs, but hopefully, a new transfer, commentary, look back featurette and where are they now will be good enough for me.

My contact at Fox says this is just a repackaging of the current DVD. So, it doesn't appear to be a special edition.

The current 1.85:1 Non-Anamorphic Widescreen DVD or the version that appears in the Double Feature?

The online stores don't seem to list any special features for this release so it it a "Special Edition" or just a reissue?

Patrick from davisdvd.com mentioned above that his contact from FOX told him that this release is only a reissue.

OMG. If someone buys that Canadian set, please report back and tell us is it's any good. I'd send some moola north of the border, if that's worth a damn.

I might actually make a drive up to Canada to pick this up. I go up there from time to time to get groceries and snacks they don't have here in the States... it's only a three hour drive. Of course, the only Canada only rare movies I've picked up (The Gate 2 and Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night 2) were full frame and barebones, but at this point I'd take FF for Revenge as long as the picture quality isn't VHS level.

Interesting... dvdboxoffice.com has a different title and boxart for what appears to be the same collection above: "Porky's Ultimate Collection"
