Will the Friday the 13th Box Set ever be re-released in an uncut version?
I am thinking about picking up the box set. But was wondering if there were any rumors about a new release?

I don't think we will. We were lucky enough to get this boxset from Paramount. They don't seem to have a high regard for this franchise, even though it made them a boatload of money in the early 80s. DDD has the set for $48.40 shipped. I noticed Walmart now carries this set in stores. It was $49.99. I usually see this one priced around $60 at Best Buy and Circuit City. It's worth it.

Didn't they say on the boxed set that the cut scenes were never fully produced, and were never preserved?
If anyone has a copy of Jason Forever that they are willing to sell, please send me a message

I bought the R3 version just to check if its worth it... and It is! seeing Kevin Bacon's Head being mutilated!

This is one example were I completed all the sequels and a crossover for both Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th series in Region 1 but still added another region which is the Region 3 - Warner Brothers (not Paramount) Friday the 13th part 1 (due to its longer, gorier and bloodier version)

I highly ever doubt it will come out... atleast in standard def DVDs... paramount has one chance to redeam themselves with the blu/hd version, but i wouldn't hold my breath... plus the box is actually a really like set...

Paramount can't seem to release anything right & some stuff they don't even bother to release. IE Ren & Stimpy, Subspecies, basically all their Fullmoon movies, ect ect... While I can't seem to digest completely wtf is wrong with Paramount, I'm guessing it all has to do with them having no standards & not really caring about the fans. I doubt alot of the material they hold will ever truely be released uncut, at least not by them. I think the only thing we can hold out for is that they finally sell off alot of their valued movie & tv show rights to someone more willing to do things right. Even that is a longshot though, and Paramount just makes me sad.

where did you get that??
are they all in one set?
shame the mask doesnt have any character to it. i know there are longer workprints of a few of the films. part 6 comes to mind. part 9 has the best release.

I'm pretty sure nothing is stoping Paramount from releasing part 1 uncut, other than laziness and cheapness. Since they own the film, they can do what they want with it,and that includes re-editing it if they choose too.
Of course part 1 was cut the least, and i'm more hoping for the uncut versions of the sequels. But the chances of that happening are slim to none. So enjoy what we have!

I just want to say, that the boxset gets alot of hate, and even with it's flaws, it still kicks ass. I spent a great day going through the special features when I first got it, then a great week last Oct going through all Friday and Nightmare flicks in Chrono order with a few friends.

I have the HK Region 3 edition which has a docu (for F13 - 1) "Return to Crystal Lake: The Making of Friday the 13th", is this even on the Region one Deluxe Box? - cause I don't see it included?

I hope Paramount's contempt for this franchise leads them to finally sell it off to New Line. Then we could finally get a complete box set and some fantastic SE's (and uncut versions, of course). But that scenario is about as likely as Paramount taking the initiative themselves.
