Question about Dragonball Z "Box Set" Releases?
Does anyone know if the box set releases of Dragonball Z are simply the original keep cases in a slipcase, or if they did in fact actually repackage the discs into something slimmer than, for instance four keepcases, so that it would take up less room on my shelf?
I used to have the entire run, but I sold everything except the Andriod and Cell sagas because it simply took up way too much room on my shelf at 3-4 episodes per keepcase. I really want to own the entire run again, so I have my fingers crossed that these current box sets, or perhaps a future release, will package the series in more "shelf-friendly" packaging.

Season sets are supposed to be coming out the first quarter of 2007. No details have been released yet. These will probably be in digipack cases, so definitely "shelf friendly."

The boxsets currently available are indeed the original keepcases collected in a box. They would take up the same amount of space as the original individual releases. It's also worth noting that only parts of the series are even available in boxsets.
There is a new release of boxsets coming next year. The first season set was already solicited but has since been delayed. It was to contain the first 39 episodes for about $45, which compared to previous releases is an excellent deal. The new sets are even rumoured to use the superior Japanese region 2 DVD masters but take that with a grain of salt until we get any confirmation.

Thank-you both for taking the time to answer my question, and while not the news I was hoping for, it is good to know that something is indeed coming within the next year.
