Help with defective disk

I recently just purchased the box set Cleopatra 2525 from the DDD sale. I watched every episode fine, but when I got to disk 2 side 2 of the dual layer, every episode would freeze and return to the main menu screen. Which means there are 4 episodes on the disk that won't work. I have tried the disk in 3 different DVD players.
I looked on Universals website and they have a disk exchange policy that it costs 7.50 for one disk plus 2.50 shipping. Which I feel is a total rip. So my question is will DDD take the item back, or am I pretty much screwed? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Well ship it to DDD and get a new one. If they don't have another one, then call Universal and tell them it's not through wear and tear that you have caused, but it was damaged goods from the get go. I don't see why they would charge you (except for the shipping) for a product that was damaged out of the box.

Ooh. A Universal flipper disc that won't play properly.

Try a search on "Universal DVD-18"

Do try returning the DVDs to your e-tailer. I've never had trouble exchanging defective Universal discs - and there have been way too many.

Good luck.

Call DDD's 800 number before you do though. They may have specific return insructions. But yeah, that's the way to go.
