Rammstein - Volkerball DVD

I dont know if anyone else is interested but this is awesome news to me and I cant wait to get my hands on it...

Translation from rammstein.com

The child has a name and we shall herewith be the ones to officially announce it! Before Christmas Rammstein’s new DVD titled „VÖLKERBALL“ will hit the stores worldwide. As we have learned from Rammstein’s manager Emanuel Fialik we can expect the maximum only! „More is not possible – we show everything that can be packed onto a DVD nowadays. Almost 3 hours Live recordings filmed in France, Japan, England and Russia. Also there is an audio CD featuring 75 minutes concert footage. In a special edition the band will release a 2nd DVD with 2 documentaries over 90 minutes. That makes 3 discs in a special edition; 2 DVD’s and 1 audio CD. On top of that we are working on another surprise...Now it is most important to release the finished work soon. I don’t want to keep anybody waiting longer than to the end of October. It was hard work and we are absolutely proud of it! We are now looking forward to the verdict of the Rammstein – fans.“

Plain – talking „Völkerball“ will be released in 2 configurations:

- as a 1 DVD/1 CD package – the so called „Standard Edition“ as well
- as a 2 DVD/1CD package – the „Special Edition“ !

Rammstein’s manager also announced the news to us that one will find both editions as well as in CD format (in the CD shelves) plus in the common DVD format (in the DVD sections) in stores. Both editions always as high – quality digi-packs. Let’s wait and see!

I've been waiting for a more current live DVD. Live Aus Berlin only covers what, their first 2 albums?

BTW, don't be surprised when this thread gets booted over to Music Talk.

I hope the rest of the videos from the last two albums will be included that werent on Lichtspielhaus... I am really intrested in the documentaries... hopefully with english subs. LOL

Thanks for the great news. I've only got their video anthology disc, but I really like it. I've been a fan for a while now, but I doubt I'll ever get to see them live, because they're banned in most States and probably won't even bother coming to Canada because of that.

The words "high quality" and "digipaks" do not belong in the same sentence.

I have noticed lately that either Germany or Rammstein have decided to go with Digipacks on everything. I got the last album and 5 singles or so... all digipaks! Whats up with that? Cant wait to see the new concert footage. Got to see them on July 5, 2001 in San Fran which was just before their last month in the US, havent been back since But I must say, BEST LIVE CONCERT EVER! I wonder if the secret surprise would be the missing DAS MODELL video that was SUPPOSED to be on the last DVD but was canned. *crosses fingers*

Cool. I've been wanting to see another live Rammstein show. Since they don't seem to come to America, this will have to work.

So i FINALLY found a copy of this at Best Buy tonight, but it had a sticker warning you to make sure you had a PAL DVD player in order to view the DVD. Anyone know if there is an NTSC version available or is the one i saw tonight all there is?

There is reports of some NTSC copies out there but nothing official in the US yet. I dont know why we are getting shafted on this product. I was going to get it but not paying up to $200 for the limited edition Hopefully something new will get announced shortly. Rumors are also going around of a BEST OF disc this year. That would be hard since 99% of their songs are the best of....

Ok, well I guess i'll just bite the bullet and pay the $32 for the essentially the CD itself and rebuy should if they ever release this NTSC the way they should have from the get-go...

***Picked it up last night and the DVD works in my computer at least (never realized you could play PAL DVD's on a comp) so it's not so bad i guess although i would much prefer watching it on the home theater.***

i Just hope that when and if it comes to R1, it has the concert and docu dvd. I really want the docu dvd and concert dvd over the second disc of audio. Just makes me mad because I have like 30+ cd's/dvd's from Rammstein and not to have this because of the $200 price tag just pisses me off so i refuse to buy it unless its a gift

JULY 17 for USA release!

Look for the standard, special edition and limited edition. No prices yet but hopefully cheaper than the import prices.

Their act uses a lot of pyro, including flamethrowers attached to the band members faces, but their performance of "Buck Dich" is probably what got them banned.

It's on youtube, and definitely not for the faint of heart. it features simulated sex/ejeculation/urination with a gimp.

That figures, I bought the import version (CD + 1 DVD) for like $42 from Amazon in November.

Ah well, still worth it.
