Sounds like the gift sets are similar. I'm all for gift sets. $80 msrp = around $55 maybe?

I didn't read anything about the extended cut. Most of the other region DVDs are releasing both the theatrical and an extended cut of the film adding somewhere along the lines of 25 minutes into the film.

I don't know which version I'll get. I thought the movie was alright, but that the book was superior (which is usually the case.) I wasn't sure if I'd get it on DVD, but I probably the will. I don't want to spend $90 Canadian on the gift set, so I'll probably just get the 2-disc, even though the gift set is quite tantalising.
