Tom & Jerry Spotlight Collection - So...

Does anyone have the "real" scoop on this mess? I have read things all over the place about "replacement discs" going back 2 years.

Has this been resolved or is it hogwash?

They are selling these at various on-line sites and want to know if I should buy them or wait.

I saw that. Some people expecting envelopes but I haven't seen anyone post they actually got one.

So, I gather any DVDs still available are not new re-issues with any corrections/fixes/whatever?

The one's currently available at stores are probably not the re-issues with the corrected discs. Some people over at the Animation Show Forums are reporting that they have received the envelopes AND got the new discs back. So far, one person reported a problem as he never got the new second disc - just the old one back again but apparently that was an isolated situation.

BTW, I called Warner about 3 weeks ago and no envelope yet.

Thanks!

I think I will wait. Buying something that you know has to be sent back is kinda ridiculous. I will hold off. If they re-issue them (with the corrected discs) and distribute them to the retailers then I will buy them. If not, so be it.

While we're discussing it... any news on a third volume?

None yet...which is kind of surprising since they released the prior two collections around the time the Looney Tunes box sets were released. Should have heard something by now.

Still, November is a long way off. Plenty of time to announce it. Heck, we're still waiting for official word on Superman Returns.
