Friday the 13 box question?

If you want to save money, the box set is the way to go. If you only want to pick up a few select films in the series. The single releases are the way to go. If you want to pick up quite a few films in the series, but not all of them. The box set is the way too go since it's still the cheaper route
The features are not that great, since Paramount rushed this thing through production. But it's quite a bargin for the price and worth it.

I actually bought the Friday the 13th set a few weeks ago. I went with the box set because it was much cheaper. I'm not one interested in special features either but it's still a nice bonus, even though I'll probably never watch them.

Well you figure the original releases run you about $12 a piece and the box runs about $55, so if your looking into 5 or more of the films, the Box set is the way to go... In terms of video/audio they are equal (although the box set is a little brighter)... also, if anything else the Deleted Scenes featurette is a very good bonus...

Decent box for the price. I picked it up during the DDD 20% sale - great item to save for the sale unless you really want it now. I have enjoyed doing a couple Jason & Freddy mini marathons lately knocking out all the films in both series in a couple of weeks. If I did not get the box sets so cheap I would have picked up just a couple of the different titles as some are a little week. But at about $5 a movie I decided to just get the whole set (I am kind of a completist).

I like the individual discs. Each movie deserves its own case.
The first Friday the 13th is also available in region 2 for cheap, in a non-snapper case.

The only difference really is with parts 1 and 4.
Part 1 used a weird hybrid print of the film which had one uncut death scene(Annies) and the killers death scene was further cut from the already cut R version(so very little of the aftermath is left). The box set version contains the original R rated version of the film. So Annies death is cut with a fade to white(but you hear her dying),while the killers death has more aftermath left, despite a few squirts of blood deleted to avoid an X rating.
part 4 had some missing sound effects/music cues and I've read the color timing of the transfer was off in a few sequences(the shower scene with lights off,had lights still on i'm told). This has all been fixed with the box set version.
And note the deleted scenes feature on the bonus disc does not contains Annies uncut death sequence, but does show the other uncut scenes from the film. It adds up to only a few seconds though,so don't get too excited about it. part 1 was one of the least cut films in the entire series.

so i was just doing some more research at DDD, and their offering the box 48.40, but each disc is 6.03 which comes to about the same i think i might go that route unless someone can give me a good reason why not to, differance in video quality or sound? Im with Disc-Flipper on this I prefer the individual discs.
