The Punisher: Extended Cut - 11/21/06

This has been rumored for a while, and now a date has been announced. I thought The Punisher was a decent spaghetti western action movie. I already sold my previous DVD, but I do not know if this is worth rebuying for just an ok movie.

No word on how much longer this will be, but The Punisher Extended Cut will be released on November 21, 2006. Some of the bonus materials will include a new commentary, a never-before-seen (and unshot) animated deleted scene in Kuwait, featurettes, etc. Retail is $19.98.

The Punishment continues with these unnecessary double dips on our wallets. I thought this movie was decent but what is this unrated version going to add, really?

I still liked the Dolph Lundgern version better. Have seen it latley? It's a ridiculously violent over the top comic book movie.

With a retail of $19.98, this will be on sale for $12.99 on its first week and then maybe lower to around $9.99 or so a few months afterward (a la Ferris Bueller, Con Air, Enemy of the State, etc). I liked the movie but I'll just wait till the price drops below $10.

Well, the movie is called The Punisher so hopefully more violence. And this is the only double-dip so far and fans have clamored for a more gruesome cut for awhile. Though I personally doubt this extended version will deliver on those fronts.

If I hear that this DVD delivers on the extra violence, I will get it for sure. I really enjoyed this movie and would love to see an even more violent edition.

I loved the movie...just a good solid revenge flick. Hopefully the deleted scenes involve the sub-plot
Spoiler:
where Jimmy was selling out Frank to Howard Saint.

I really didn't think there would be the interest for a double dip. But then again, I didn't think they would make a sequel. I'll wait until its cheap and keep whichever version I like best.

I passed on the current disc in anticipation of this eventually coming out (had heard rumors of many scenes being cut). I'll be picking it up.

I am curious as to what it will add. I thought the theatrical version wasn't bad.

I will be picking this up also, loved the theatrical version and hopefully this version will make it even better. Can't wait to see the new cover art for this release, as the original cover art could have been better.

Such a terrible movie does not deserve an Extended Cut.

We get this and the Adaptation SE rumored for years still isn't coming out. Life is unfair.

I'll start off by saying I really enjoyed this movie, but ....

Should some of these so-called "extended" editions be referred to as "padded" editions? Most movies are not enhanced by slipping extra minutes back into the running time, so I no longer get my hopes up when one is announced - I'll wait for some reviews before even considering this.

New scenes, new commentary, deleted scenes, featurettes is more than enough for me as long as the new material is more than a few mins. It would be nice if the new cut made it even better, kind of like how Daredevil was after the DC came out.
