Richard Pryor's Moving/Greased Lightning 8/22

I don't know how I missed this coming out. Comedy and screen legend Richard Pryor hits the comedy road in Moving, a good-time tale of a flustered suburbanite trying to relocate with his family from New Jersey to Idaho. Dave Thomas, Dana Carvey and Randy Quaid are among the comic ensemble in this movie that packs "a houseful of laughs" (V.A. Musetto, New York Post). Next, Pryor has a driving ambition in Greased Lightning, the decades-spanning true story of Wendell Scott, who cracked the all-white world of stock-car racing, built cars from junkyard parts, endured taunts, overcame setbacks and won NASCAR and Grand National crowns. "There's not a more likable movie currently on view," Time reviewer Richard Schickel wrote about this biopic that marks Pryor's first lead film role.
Widescreen 1.85:1 Color (Anamorphic)
DDD $9.08 cheapest I've seen so far.

Moving is a really great Pryor flick, except at the end of the film they could have used better props for Pryor, somewhat Conan low budget sh**t going on there with the silly fake dummy that looks fake. Never saw Greased Lightning, but I will, I can't wait to pick this up!

I haven't seen Greased Lightning since the early days of HBO...it used to play quite a bit if I remember. Definitely will be picking this one up!

I had a hard time finding this baby today but I did. I am happy to finally own Moving on dvd and have Greased Lightning as well in Widescreen. I am still a bit upset at Warner though still for the Grumpy Old Men 1 & 2 Widescreen debacle. I looked at that one and it was indeed Fullscreen, thanks Warner (please see my middle index finger). Anyway, Moving is on DVD!

Greased Lightning was one of my favorite movies growing up. Moving is a nice movie but GL is the one I'm really looking foward to.

Just got done watching Moving and the video/audio transfer was very good from Warner. The disc is a single sided dual-layer disc which fits both films on one dvd, I would have preferred a flipper disc for a higher bit-rate for both movies. I do own the Laserdisc of Moving and the video quality of this dvd in comparison looked like high-definition to me. Haha. -- I will checkout Greased Lightning soon. If you love any of these 2 films, pick this up, it's a good deal!
