Scrooged: SE -> Oct. 31
From DVDActive:
Title: Scrooged (IMDb) Starring: Bill Murray Released: 31st October 2006 SRP: Around $19.99 Further Details: Paramount Home Entertainment has sent over artwork for the 'Yule Love It!' edition of the Richard Donner directed Scrooged which stars Bill Murray, Carol Kane, Alfre Woodard, Karen Allen and John Forsythe. I'm afraid Paramount has yet to officially announce this one, so we are unable to reveal the disc specs at this time. However we can confirm that it will be available to own from the 31st October. Retail should be around $19.99. Stay tuned for further details. For now though, here's our first look at the official artwork: http://img123.imageshack.us/img123/8...workpicfn0.jpg Looking forward to this release although I hate the 'Yule Love It!' banner. One of Elfman's better scores as well. |
Awesome. I will double dip on this, it's my favourite holiday film.
Good things come to those who wait!
I thought it was pretty good too, until that really hokey ending...
"Yule love it" edition?? ugh. don't make me puke, paramount.
This is probably my favorite Christmas movie of all time. I'm in.
One of my favorite Christmas flicks. Definitely in for this one. Glad I dumped the old one and never got it back in a trade now.
Yule Love It! Edition
Yikes...they never really get any better do they.. |
Paramount, PLEASE fire the guy in charge of these marketing slogans.

Do you think they will ever release a box set of stupid slogan titles from Paramount?
Definitely picking this one up. This was on the short list of movies I really wanted a special edition release of. How about a Beetlejuice: SE next!
I'm in - procrastinating on the current release is finally paying off.
This is a must buy for me.
 i'm in as well.
I think it looks good, but I hope there are some good extras to go along with it. I love this movie and want lots of extra goodies to dive into.
That is one of the lamest edition titles I've ever read.
I'm in. |
No double dip for me as for some reason, I've never picked it up.
This is my favorite holiday film too, but I'll wait to see what the extras are before I decide whether to double dip.

It's great to see a SE of this! I just hope it goes HD DVD as well.
I never got the original version, so I will probably get this. It is not a high priority though.
I used to love the film, but it plays on cable so much from October to December that I'm a bit tired of it. It'll all come down to the extras -- if they get Murray to participate, I'm definitely in.
I'm in for this one. Kept putting off getting the original release, but I think I'll throw the hint to the missus and maybe she can pick it up as a stocking filler since I'm in no big rush to get it.
Why no HD-dvd release?
Also wiill the dvd have a new transfer. The old one isn't bad but could be improved. |
FACT: It is impossible to sincerely say "Yule Love It!" without gagging or full-blown vomiting with disgust. People who claim to have said the ugly phrase were in fact saying "You'll Love It" to avoid the grotty pun.

As for the transfer, Paramount gave the Clueless SE a new transfer (even though the old one looked fine), while the Ferris Bueller SE seemed to use the old transfer (though I'm not sure on that one). So we won't know until official specs are released or until reviews pop up. |
I own the 1st Scrooged dvd and I love the movie but I don't watch it to often so no double-dip for me.

Some of our favorite quotes: "If I can change it in the next five minutes, I'll let you know." "It's a little late to be getting this kind of feedback." "It's a toaster!" "This is one Santa that's going out the front door." "If I can't work late... I can't work late!" "They're like that every day of the year - I guarantee it!" "Scrape 'em off." I could keep going... |

They really removed the spookiness of it... |
 must-buy for me.
I'm pretty sure that the new Ferris had a new slightly better transfer.
JUd, the link doesn't work, just gives an ad...
:( |
oops, works if you cut and paste it into the browser.
I agree, new cover is WAY too festive looking. The film had some dark moments in it. Karen Allen was SO great looking in this flick.
Awesome, I've been holding off on buying this for years, so I'm glad I did so
Full disc details are now posted.
Looks like a pretty decent release. Thanks, Patrick!
