With the mind of a DVD collector...who knows? I seem to be pretty insane about this sort of thing.

I haven't open my US "Chosen" collection yet. How are the discs packaged within it? Mini-slimpacs?

There were some really great pictures in the original Chosen Collection thread, but it looks like they're all gone now, save for the promo pics from TVShowsonDVD:

Basically, each season is in a separate segment. The segments are the same dimensions as a CD jewel case, but thicker, with hinges for each disc. Do you have the Planet of the Apes Ape head? Each season has the same type of case as what you pull out of the ape's neck.

All-in-all, it's a really sweet package. It manages to do everything well -- it looks cool, it's appropriate to the show, it's convenient to access discs, and it is extremely compact. That's what I like to see. If you're asking me to double-dip to get the whole show in one package, cut down on my shelf space and do something cool.

I agree that the orignal digipacks took up too much space. That's why I bought a nice cd/dvd binder and put all my Buffys and Angels in one small package. The original digipacks are now empty and tucked away elsewhere. Plus I was underwhelmed by the design for the chosen collection (although the UK version looks cool). I am also terribly disappointed that the US releases are fullscreen despite Joss' declaration for the framing.

You mean his declaring that Buffy is a Full Screen show and should only be viewed that way?
