Pretty sleazy of Warner to release this crap the same year they said they'd release widescreen versions of these. Lots of sites have this listed as widescreen also, so it looks like warner fooled everyone.
Glad I didn't pre-order this. I usually don't, but this is more reason not to anymore.

Mine too & with the free media mail shipping it means I've got to wait about 10 days for the fucking burro to deliver it & then refuse delivery so the burro can take it back to DDD. Should have the credit for it back on my chargecard by ThanksfuckingGiving.

Warner just stated that they still plan on doing an OAR set for the Grumpy Old Men movies in the same manner as the ace ventura set. with rare interviews with the cast

Still waiting... too bad they waited too long and no commentaries from the actors

Will be glad to finally get OAR versions in my hands.

Still got my Laserdisc of these movies. Maybe, just maybe, I can retire them someday down the line.

Re: Grumpy Old Men :Double Disc

Looks like they are releasing another edition of this....still in FS (hopefully this time all the sites are wrong and it is actually WS)

http://www.amazon.com/Grumpy-Old-Men...8961402&sr=8-4

Better cover art and the new ECO case, that's really gonna make people happy.

The back cover is posted. And it's not really a new DVD. It's just a new cover for the old double feature. I bet the UPCs are the same.

But it comes with the new ECO packaging! I'm going to throw out my old copy and upgrade to this more environmental one.

Re: Grumpy Old Men :Double Disc

What a GREAT set of films filmed in my home town none-the-less. I;d love to see these again in widescreen since I live in TN and rarely see snow.

Warner needs someone to wake them up - is not EVERYONE buying widescreen sets now? Why fullscreen then? Repackaged to sucker in those shoppers how haven't seen it? Just seems like they are a little behind the learning curve here. Now I remember why i don;t come here anymore. I just hear shitty news like this and then get my hopes as I read the thread only to have them shattered by Warner!!!!

Thanks Warner - you suck!!

Re: Grumpy Old Men :Double Disc

I'm not a fan of the Grumpy Old Men films, but the fact that there are STILL major titles being released and rereleased in the wrong AR is just flat out ridiculous...

Because they are re-using old discs. The majority of these discs are headed to Wal-Marts, where consumers are uninformed.

Re: Grumpy Old Men :Double Disc

I almost picked up the Blu-ray of Grumpy Old Men over the weekend during the crazy sale at WBShop, but decided against it since the sequel hasn't been released yet.

While I'd rather just have a simple DVD of both flicks, but it looks like Blu-ray may end up being the only way to go.
