DVDs with extras that address why the movie was horrible and/or bombed?
At the very end of the David Koepp/William Goldman commentary track for Panic Room, William Goldman mentions Gigli, and horrible movies in general, and how he'd love to see some extras on a DVD of a movie that ended up being horrible and/or bombed, a commentary track maybe, where those involved actually sit down and admit how everything fell apart, and simply go over why they think things turned out the way they did, in an honest and candid way.
Are there any DVDs out there that cover anything like that in a serious way?

Track down the 2-disc Batman and Robin, the making of featurette explains eveything that went wrong, then in the commentary Joel Schumacher apologizes for making the movie. Great Stuff for such a shitty movie.

Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather: Part III commentary. He accepts and points out where the picture was flawed and gives reasons why, and fiercely defends his daughter's performance.

I know this isn't what you're looking for, but I was pleasantly surprised by Penelope Spheeris' commentary for Wayne's World. The movie wasn't bad and certainly didn't bomb, but her commentary just seemed really honest. She didn't seem to be kissing anyone's ass or holding anything back. She says at one point "SNL was such a boys' club" and talks about how she couldn't always shoot things the way she wanted but could shoot it multiple ways and then get her way in editing.
So, if you were also interested in hearing an honest commentary for a successful film, check that one out.

The insert for Freddy Got Fingered has the one good review the movie got on the front and several bad reviews inside.

I thought it was quite big of Joel Schumacher to admit problems with his Batman films, good stuff.
On The Island commentary track, Michael Bay explains why the movie flopped, saying it was mainly his fault because he okayed the advertising campaign, which confused and turned off audiences.

Needs to contact an admin about multiple accounts
The Limey - audio commentary.
iirc, soderbergh and screenwriter lem dobbs have a polite disagreement over how the film differed from the sceenplay, or somthing to that effect.

Some of the commentary participants of Fight Club touches on how the advertising didn't get the real idea of the movie across. Some of the extras even mention and quote all the bad reviews it received.

Just finished the installment on "Batman and Robin". Akiva Goldsman sounds like a douche bag defending that pile of poo, but at least the exec. producer made some sense re: each film representing a different era.

For any movie put out within the last year, they can just say the movie bombed because nobody wants to pay $10 per person to see an out-of-focus picture on a small screen with a rude audience.
