What's the earliest season of The Simpsons that you own?

For me it's season 2.

matome 07-05-06 09:17 AM

I started from the beginning, though I'll probably be dead by the time the last season rolls around

fnordboy 07-05-06 09:34 AM

I started at S1 because the completist in me forced me to.

I gave up caring by S3 or S4. Eventually I will get the rest of what's out there, but I am just not in the rush I once was too.

trammel 07-05-06 09:43 AM

Season 1

jmj713 07-05-06 09:58 AM

Uh, is this a trick question? Season One, of course. How can you not own the first season?

grim_tales 07-05-06 10:00 AM

S2. S2 is when the show "went good".

alfonsosoriano 07-05-06 10:04 AM

S1, the only season I have.

Season 1 > Season 2

S1 is so underrated and really funny.

dadaluholla 07-05-06 10:10 AM

I only own my favorite season, which is Season 4. I really don't plan on buying any others.

scottp120 07-05-06 10:26 AM

Season 1

GuessWho 07-05-06 10:30 AM

I don't own any. But I like to vote in polls.

kms_md 07-05-06 10:57 AM

season 1

Mikael79 07-05-06 10:58 AM

I think I own 1-4, and I've stopped buying them now. There are going to be too many, and while I like the show...I enjoy other shows more.

DRG 07-05-06 11:08 AM

Season 4. Season 1 just doesn't hold up for me that well, although I might pick up 2 or 3 if I find a good enough deal.

gotrice487 07-05-06 11:34 AM

S6...I'm not sure why this late but I plan to pick up the earlier ones soon

Puzznic 07-05-06 11:36 AM

Season 1 is great, it's just more story driven than later seasons.

Nick Danger 07-05-06 11:37 AM

Mrs. Danger found S1 on the path when she was taking pictures of sand and cactus on the West Mesa. True story.

Numes 07-05-06 11:50 AM

The extras alone are worth the price for every season, IMHO.

Me: Season 1

tonyc3742 07-05-06 11:51 AM

S1.
Have them all up to Homer's Head, but haven't watched it yet. And because I'm at least a season behind in viewing, I'm not in a real hurry to get caught up with the more recent releases.

Damfino 07-05-06 12:04 PM

Season 1 is great, but the animation is more primitive and the characters (aside from Bart) hadn't been fully developed yet. In retrospect it doesn't compare as well to the years that followed.

So far there are 3 voters who started with season 2 and I have to wonder if this is why they skipped the first season and were they old enough back then to remember what an overnight sensation the Simpsons were?

PixyJunket 07-05-06 12:17 PM

I picked up 3-5 at the recent Sam's Club deal.. I'm in no hurry to go for the others but I would like Season 2 at least for the Lisa's Substitute episode.

jmj713 07-05-06 12:17 PM

I can't fathom not having a complete run of the series.

That's my reason.

grim_tales 07-05-06 12:59 PM

I agree with you Grundle.

reverie 07-05-06 01:06 PM

Only own season one, because I got it for $12 a few years ago.
