Yeah, it's not a very good month for DVDs. I'm not buying anything until July 25th.

It's a weak month for me, and in general dvd releases, no doubt, but it depends on the person and if anything they want is being released this month. I have nothing flagged either, but August looks much stronger for DVD releases. I guess those who have nothing planned to purchase, like myself, can use July to save a few round$ before we fire away in Augu$t.

The only dvd I've got pencilled in for a July purchase is the Hudson Hawk SE on the 25th. This is the worst month for me since I got into dvd. August is going to be big & September HUGE though so I'll be saving up for some big spending the last 5 months of the year.

Finally, a slow month for me. There is nothing coming out to buy this Tuesday and I think thats a first since I started buying dvd almost 5 years ago. There are some good ones coming out this month though:

Halloween 4, 5 and 25 years
Shogun Assassin
Tales From The Crypt: Season Four
The Incredible Hulk: Season One

With this slow month, it will get me to save up some money for a busier August.

For me yes. All I'm getting is the Halloween dvds(4/5/doc) and Final Destination 3.

You know, from here on out, it's slow every month (espcecially since I'm not jumpint into HD) - most catalog-titles that I want are already out, with pretty good, to great, dvds. And as far as new stuff - they're just not as interesting to me as the newer stuff from 4-5 years ago. Even foreign stuff from other regions aren't as good as they once was - there's still good stuff, just not as much... which I guess makes things easy on the old pocketbook.

I may buy Halloween 4/5 depending on the reviews. Already have, and love, the tin versions.

The Warner Tough Guys Collection and their 3rd iteration of FILM NOIR are alone enough for me to say it's going to be a great month. That's 11 movies plus tons of extras....and then there's also Fox's THE BLACK SWAN ( a rather clumsy film, but beautifully produced, with Maureen O'Hara at her lovliest, and as well the long overdue 2 Disc set of GRAND PRIX.

Hardly anything to sneeze at!

Ditto, save "Halloween 5", and they all drop on the same day in the last week of the month. Slow month, indeed.

Fox needs to get on the ball and re-re-re-re-release Independence Day for July.

Agreed.

On top of that, late August/early September is primetime for TV on DVD.

I have to question where the heck a lot of TV series are though that were announced at one point and have now dissapeared, or generally come out in August and aren't this year (Stargate SG-1 Season 9 for example). It makes it difficult to keep up with current shows if they never release the DVDs.

I'm glad it's a slow month for me. All I'll get is probably Halloween 4, 5, and Final Destination 3. I want Carnivale Season 2 but I can't afford that right now, but I may have a decent shot at getting Reno 911 Season 3.

I'm looking forward to Carnivale season 2, the final Maison Ikkoku box set, and the rerelease of Patlabor the Movie 2. The Incredible Hulk is tempting, but I may be content with having the pilot.

Oh, and for those who are still interested.......The Star Wars "OOT" debacles.

Hell yeah. And don't forget the new editions of Severn Samurai and Brazil in Spetember.

It's actually not a bad thing July is a slow month since I need to save money for August and September.

Ah,the dvd addicts feeling withdrawl

"I need my fix, grrrrrrrrr, where are the millions of must own releases?".

I'm glad things are slow this month, since I have VERY little room left on my shelf and thus have to be VERY selective of what I purchase to fill it up. And since I can't afford to buy everything I want immediately in the first place. I don't mind having less of an urge to pick up a 'must have' because of a slow release period.

So I'm going to go July without buying a single dvd(I'll do my best!). And August I'll try to skip if possible for now. But September, hell no,I will be picking up the new Texas Chainsaw SE immediately at the very least!
