Wow, I didn't even notice that this was being released! I searched, but I didn't see a thread for it.

Between this and Brisco County, Jr., July 18 is going to be an expensive day!

Wow! My head hurts from the nostalgia that just hit it. Might have to pick this up.

I remember really enjoying this when it was on (and I was 12). I'm just wondering if it will hold up after all these years.

Wow, I had completely forgotten about that series until reading that thread. Maybe my memory is just fuzzy after so many years, but I seem to remember that the animation was quite a notch above your average Saturday morning cartoon. Anyone else recall that?

Great news. I hope they do some of the other Filmation series, like Defenders of the Earth, The Young Sentinels, Fantastic Voyage as well...

I remember nothing about this series. My question would be is the writing and characterization anywhere close to level seen in Justice League, Superman: AS, or Batman:AS?

I also have fond memories of watching this show when I was a kid. I remember thinking at the time (I was around 13) that this was the best cartoon show I'd ever seen on tv. The story was essentially one long arc that continued each week from where the last episode left off. There was a lot of action (e.g., battles) and a wide range of supporting characters. Can't wait to get this set and see how well it holds up after all these years.

Just watched the first two episodes... holy crap this is a fun set. I'm getting nostalgia whiplash.

Edit: They're also putting out Blackstar and Space Sentinels/Freedom Force (on 8/22) and Defenders of the Earth (Fall 2006).

I had heard that the set is packaged in a double keepcase with cardboard sleeve slipcover - however the keepcase doesn't have a sleeve. Is this true?
