Underworld Evolution Extended Edition?
Has anyone heard any news on when we may be getting this dvd? News should be hitting soon or may have hit already. I'm usually pretty good at getting the first scoop on dvd's but i'm in the dark on this one. Thanks.

Please add a question mark to your title.
Nothing has been announced yet for an extended Underworld Evolution. In the theatrical cut DVD commentary, director Len Wiseman used the phrase, "If there is ever an extended cut..." To me, that does not sound like one is in the works just yet. However, this is a Sony title, so one will probably be released at some point. Maybe whenever Underworld 3 comes out.

I passed on the first release in anticipation of an extended/unrated version. It's just a matter of time and Sony is notorious for doing this. Count on it.

I'm holding off on buying the current release, due to the fact that I'm sure another version will come out. Even if the director has no part in it, Sony will likely throw together a new, better, version.
I got lucky on the original Underworld DVD release, because while I was waiting for it to become a Columbia House enrollment title - Sony announced the extended edition.

I really enjoy this series and can't wait for the 3rd one. As for the first Underworld, I heard so many bad reviews from critics and from the members here, I held off buying the first and just rented it. To my surprise, the movie was great! Lucky for me, the announcement came out for an extended edition, so I ended up holding out for that one.
For the sequel, well . . . couldn't wait. I bought it on release day. Of course there will be an extended/special edition coming out in the future . . . I'll just have to double-dip.

Damn -- I hate when I read 75% of the thread before I realize it is from over two years ago ... is there some way we designate threads as "re-opened?"
I would be very interested in an extended version -- the second one didn't grab me like the first one did (and the DC was an impressive improvement on a decent flick).
