Sunset Blvd. Deleted Scene Question

There's a documentary on TCM about Billy Wilder. In it, there's a very, very, very short glimpse of the deleted opening scene.

I thought it was lost?

Will we get to see the full scene in it's entirety someday?

Anyone know?

On the DVD, it's presented as a series of text screens with occasional film footage. Apparently, much of the deleted opening ended up as stock footage. Of course, this means it's mostly shots of the morgue and coroner van since you wouldn't re-use clips of William Holden.

Ahhhhhhhh. maybe that's why the scene was so ridiculously short when it was listed as a deleted scene in the documentary.
