I currently have both the collector's edition w/lee comic and the target tin, also plan to order the walmart dvd w/bonus disc. So hopefully out of all 3, I'll get a disc with 21 deleted scenes. :|

Anyway....didn't they advertise something about choosing from 2 different menus, is it possible that has something to do with some only getting 10 deleted scenes and others getting 21. I plan on opening my dvd(s) later tonight, so I'll check for myself, until then.....Just wondering.

Yeah. You can choose from either the "X-Men" menu or the "Brotherhood of Evil Mutants/Morlocks" menu. Both menu styles had the same features.

Ginwen 10-07-06 05:57 PM

I got the Collector's Edition at Walmart. It has 21 deleted scenes plus 3 alternate endings.

Edit: Plus it has the extra little clip on the fourth page of scenes.

Zodo 10-07-06 06:02 PM

On my R3 edition there are different deleted scenes depending on which menu you choose. I'm wondering if this issue is what's effecting some people.

Also, can someone who has the Walmart Bonus disc describe the documentary on there? It only comes with the Widescreen edition, correct?

whomod 10-07-06 08:13 PM

Is there a place where you can get a detailed list of what and where you can find the best features and to be sure you're not getting screwed with the 10 extras DVD.

Right here I just see a lot of confusion. That poll is only adding to the confusion.

It'd be nice if a detailed list of what stores have what versions and what extras you could expect to get would be posted. Along with any UPC's you'd needs to be able to tell the difference once you're in the store.

Right now i'm confused as to what i'd be getting in the Best Buy 2 disc version as opposed to going to Wal-Mart and getting that X-Men comics retrospective documentary which I really would like to see. First off, is the the documentary a Wal-Mart exclusive?? Does it really come ina "Full Frame" DVD only?? So no Best Buy DVD's have the comics retrospective?

I dunno. FOX really screwed the pooch with this release. The cynic in me says this is deliberate to get fanboys running around buying multiple copies. I just want to wait until I get some facts.

If DVD Talk doesn't have this list I'm looking for, does anyone know if anyone else has made one yet? Links would be appreciated.

no matter how much i was tempted to buy this i will hold out for the inevitable x-men 3.5 or wait until they wind up in the 2 for $15 weekly sales. the deleted scene fiasco helped some. pretty good considering i bought about 12 other dvds this weekend lol :)

Reading this thread since I last posted made me recheck the R3 disc. There are 13 deleted scenes on one side (X-Men or Brotherhood), and 12 on the other - however - "plastic weapons manufacturing" is on BOTH menus!

This means although the count totals 25, there are actually only 24 scenes in total!

Gizmo 10-07-06 11:18 PM

Anyone rent this from Blockbuster, Hollywood, NextFlx, etc. and see how many they have? I may just rent it, confirm it has 24 (mine has 11!) and swap the discs. Seems like a pain in the ass for Fox messing up.

I saw that same commercial last night. I just checked my target tin version and I count the 10 + 3 alts. My collectors edition has the same.

Here's a list of the 10 + 3 alt's. Just to compare with the 21 deleted scenes dvd.

1-Xavier voice over for main titles.
2-Jimmy in lab
3-Alt. Version: Beast meets logan
4-Pyro tells magneto about the cure announcement.
5- " " " " " (Magneto Bearded Version)
6-Alt. Version: Guard yells at president.
7- Extended: Fight sequence at Jean grey's house.
8-Alt. Version: Here's Juggy
9-Magneto tortures logan
10- Extended: Dark Phoenix destruction

Alternate endings
- New school year begins
- Rogue returns
- Logan returns to Alberta, Canada

That's it! I double checked too while watching them and laughed when I watched it twice.

RocShemp 10-08-06 11:17 PM

Is there a list of the R3 deleted scenes? I may have to pick up a copy (unless there will be an extended cut in R1 that incorporates all those scenes).

So far, I think the US DVD will have 10 deleted scenes and 3 alternate endings set up like this:
1. Xavier voice-over for main titles
2. Jimmy in Laboratory
3. Alternate version: Beast meets Logan
4. Pyro tells Magneto about the cure announcement - clean shaven version
5. Pyro tells Magneto about the cure announcement - bearded version
6. Alternate version: Guard yells at the President
7. Extended fight sequence at Jean Grey's house
8. Alternate version: Here's Juggy
9. Magneto tortures Logan
10. Extended Dark Phoenix destruction

11. Alternate version: Rogue returns
12. Alternate ending: New School Year begins
13. Alternate ending: Logan returns to Alberta, Canada

And the dvds in other regions should have these in addition to the above.

1. "PSYCHIC BATTLE" - VOICES
2. ALTERNATE VERSION: BOBBY & KITTY SKATE
3. ORIGINAL VERSION: JEAN DISPLAYS HER POWER AT THE ENCAMPMENT
4. PLASTIC WEAPONS MANUFACTURING
5. HANK WARNS TRASK OF MAGNETO'S PLAN
6. ORIGINAL VERSION: X-MEN BOARD THE JET
7. JEAN SENSES A SCARED LITTLE GIRL
8. MAGNETO ASKS JEAN TO HELP IN THE BATTLE
9. STORM CREATES A WAVE
10. BEAST BREAKS A NECK
11. BOBBY FREEZES PHAT

Nevermind. If there is to be no extended cut, I may just order this at CD-WOW.

RocShemp 10-08-06 11:27 PM

I didn't know the R1 version came in two varieties. My copy only has 10 deleted scenes. :(

starman9000 10-09-06 12:05 PM

I picked up the regular edition from buy.com and it has the 21 deleted scenes.

Cedrock 10-09-06 04:23 PM

Rammsteinfan 10-10-06 02:52 PM

Just got my trilogy box set from buy.com and it has the 21 scenes.

Just posted at Digitalbits:

Finally today, a lot of you have been wondering what's up with Fox's X-Men: The Last Stand DVD. Some readers have reported that select copies of the DVD were released with 22 deleted scenes, while others have only 10. We've checked with our industry sources and have learned this is true. However, we've also learned that the number of discs that were released with the larger number of deleted scenes is very, very small - so little in fact that they all sold out early on the first day. We don't know why they were pulled, and speculation runs from a problem with clearance issues on the deleted material to the possibility of Fox releasing an even more elaborate special edition in 2007. Either way, there was no way to tell which disc you were getting based on the packaging. The main thing to know, is that if you've already purchased a copy and have been thinking of returning it hoping to get one of the copies with 22 deleted scenes, don't bother. Those discs are LONG gone at your local retailer. In fact, if you purchased your DVD on the first day but haven't opened it yet, that's your best bet short of eBay for getting the version with more deleted scenes. Also, as far as Wal-Mart's bonus disc - the packaging claims the bonus disc inside will include a pair of making-of featurettes, and then when you open it, you get a featurette on the history of the X-Men comic book. The packaging was simply mislabeled. You're getting exactly what you're supposed to be getting. We hope this information at least helps ease your minds a bit.

Willh51 10-11-06 04:23 PM

Playing devil's advocate...well I got my disc on Friday and it had 22 deleted scenes. You guys may want to try digging through the shelf at circuit city.

yah...same here.... The Bits seems to make up news thats logical but not fact...same thing when they "officially" reported that the superman mega box set had been discontinued...when in fact Warner had not revealed a date because of Superman Returns

Looks like a confusing poll in this thread

Hey Xage, do you have anything to back this? 4 people voted on the poll that they had found it, but no one has chimed in about it. Seems a bit strange that every other exclusive had a mixed bag but this one wouldn't.

i mixed & matched my tin with a 21 copy...

Not sure if it's even logical; since they're saying it's impossible to tell which ones have the extra scenes, i can't imagine anyone can confidently say its impossible to buy one now.
