So, this Wal-Mart bonus disc....is this documentary on anything else? Any X-Fans who've collected all the previous X-Film releases know if this documentary is truly a Wal-Mart exclusive? I'm still waiting for my R3 2-Disc X3 DVDs but I don't see this documentary listed on it anywhere or anything that sounds remotely like it. Is this really an exclusive that I'll have to track down now?

It doesn't seem to be duplicated anywhere that I've seen. It's a really really good documentary if you're a fan of the X-Men comics. It covers the 40+ years of the X-Men comics with interviews from Len Wein, Chris Claremont, Dave Cockrum, Jim Lee, Louise Simonson, Fabian Nichenza, Scott Lobdell, Adam & Andy Kubert, Mark Millar, John Cassaday, and Joe Quesada.

I just bought the Target tin and I am very dissapointed. The only reason I bought it from them was because I thought it came with the Deluxe Edition with the new Stan Lee comic. The reprint of Giant X-Men #1 and the cards are worthless to me, and I think the tin is ugly... Is there any way I can return it for a refund if the DVD itself is still sealed?

Oh snap! About a year or so ago, Mark Millar mentioned on his website that he just shot an interview for the X-Men 2.5 DVD that was going to be released prior to X3 hitting the theaters. That DVD release never materialized. THIS has to be the interview he was talking about.

Great! Now I have to buy it!

Thanks, Jar Jar. I love comic documentaries and this sounds like a good one. It's about an hour long, right?

It's funny that some people are pissed that its a documentary about the comics, when it made me want to get it more. I'd much rather have an 1hr 8 min documentary about the history of the comics than a 36 minute garbage HBO behind the scenes style documentary, which is probably what was supposed to be in there. Granted I've read the comics, so I really liked seeing interviews by all the artists and writers, but even if you've never read a comic, if you do like the X-men movies, how can you have no interest in the comics? Its the same characters that you love on screen and you can learn alittle about their history without ever having to pick up a comic book.

Exactly. I think it's one of the best comic book retrospective documentaries I've seen.

The one on Elektra on the Elektra 2-Disc DVD was great as well.

Couple of questions:

Do they offer the CE with the bonus disc from walmart or is it only the regular edition that comes with the bonus disc?

Does the regular and or CE from walmart w/bonus disc have the 21 deleted scenes?

Is it known yet if 21 scenes = CE and 10 scenes = regular edition or have there been regular editions w/21 scenes?

Any help appreciated.

The walmart bonus disk only comes with the regular edition.

It depends how lucky you are. My Walmart 2 pack had the 21 scenes, and it seems alot of people with the walmart packs got 21 as well, but ive seen posts saying they've gotten the 10 one with the walmart 2 pack as well.

It seems it doesn't really matter which one you get, you don't know for sure until you open it. The CE, the target tin, the regular, and the walmart pack might have either the 10 or the 21.

costco's 3 movie, and t-shirt set

I had told myself not to buy X3 until a nice box set came out, since I already own X2, but not X1 -- when I walked into costco yesterday, I saw that trilogy box set for $30 and it came with a rather nice t-shirt. By contrast the special collectors edition (not with the tin, but with the comic) was $22.

I picked up the trilogy/shirt set, but will not break the plastic until I'm sure its worthwhile.

I have heard that the version of X3 that is in that trilogy box set does NOT have the deleted scenes. At present, I am unable to verify that (no way in hell I'm opening it).

This is the trilogy box that is in the set I got: http://www.amazon.com/X-Men-Trilogy-...?ie=UTF8&s=dvd
Notice how the description of X3 does NOT mention deleted scenes.

However, looking at the DVD individually (the box I have has pictures of the covers on the back), it appears to be this one:
http://www.amazon.com/X-Men-Stand-Wi...?ie=UTF8&s=dvd
Notice how this one DOES mention the deleted scenes.

...and now I hear that some have 10 and some have 21?!?!?!?!

Can anyone confirm incontrivertibly what this trilogy set contains?

I'm just going to wait for the SE next year. This release seems like it was done too half-assed.

Yeah, I may be forced to agree, and wait for the next box set. I'm sure there will be a "special" one, just like with the Batman Anthology.

This is why I don't open DVDs until a day or two after purchasing!

Just got my trilogy Box set from Buy.com. 21 deleted scenes.

And they have one where it shows Phoenix was responsible for the sudden night time change in the final battle. She hears a young girl crying and starts to show sympathy, but slowly switches back to rage, as the sun dims down. Neat effect. Why was that deleted, it bothered me so much in the theaters.

Ratner really cut out some great stuff, and in the commentary keeps mentioning the stuff will be back in a directors cut.
